*Sigh* another mistake I've made.... sorry!! but it's here now so hope you forgive me for the confusion...

"You signed up for the army?!" Cristina asked her, her voice was angry.

"They offered a program that's better than the one at Mass Gen. and Seattle, but I put off until I finished my internship. I think that's the letter that they sent half way into the internship and something must have happened that made me sign it and change my mind," Meredith answered her, holding her hands up.

Richard frowned, why did she accept it in the first place? And what made her change her decision? There were more questions swirling around his mind, but he couldn't bring himself to ask them.

It then showed Meredith walking in the hallway towards the chief's office. She knocked on the door and was let in. Richard smiled when he saw her.

"Meredith! What brings you here this morning?" he asked her, still smiling happily.

Meredith looked serious, not smiling, "Chief, I'm here to put in my notice," she said as she handed him some papers.

Almost immediately, his smile dropped and he frowned when he read through the papers. "Where are you going if you're leaving, Meredith?" he asked her.

"The US Army, sir," she said to him, not flinching or anything when he basically yelled "the army?!!" in response.

"I get that you're basically my uncle, but isn't this reaction a bit excessive?" Meredith asked him, but he just shrugged, not giving her a real answer.

"Yes," she simply said to him.

"Meredith, you can't--" he started but was cut off by Meredith.

"Chief, I know about you and my mother. This is the least you owe me," Meredith said to him and then he looked guilty, losing his train of thought about trying to convince her to stay.

At this, both Ellis and Richard paled. They never wanted her to find out, even though they knew that it was inevitable that she did.

"What about you and uncle Richard, mom?" Meredith asked her mother, looking at the both of them and they both looked guilty to a fault.

The others stared at them, waiting for her to answer, also wanting to know. None of them bothered to hide the fact that they were listening to them.

"He and I were... involved..." Ellis said to her, and Meredith could be perceptive and she understood exactly what type of involvement they had.

"Before you married Thatcher... right?" Meredith asked her, asked them both, really. She was practically begging that it was before her parents married, but by Richard's guilty look, she knew that it was too good to be true.

Ellis shook her head and many of the people in the room gasped dramatically. Meredith was looking between the two with her eyes wide, not saying anything. She turned back in her seat and sat down, just staring out into space.

No one bothered her and they just went back to staring at the screen, waiting for it to continue.

He nodded and took a pen, signing where she told him to. But before she could turn to leave, he spoke up.

"Meredith, are we still good?" he asked her and she looked him in the eyes so he knew she was serious before she answered him.

"It'll take time for me to trust you again, chief, but we'll get there," she said to him, it was obvious that she knew about this longer than he thought she did.
