Chapter 2: Rarity's Friends

"Class dismissed, please remember to submit your 3 page essay on the history of Canterlot!"

He stood up from his chair and gathered his belongings.

'Finally, lunch.'

He walked out of class, and eventually made it outside to the field. He looked at his phone waiting for a text from his best friend's girlfriend.

Me: Where are you?

He was growing impatient.

Rarity: Quite sorry for the late reply, I went to get a coffee.

Me: That's okay.

Rarity: Right! I'll be at the benches in the field, you can't miss me!!

"Hey Rarity." he walked up to the benches and gave an awkward wave to her and her friends.

"Darling! Welcome! I'm so glad you could make it!" She skipped towards him and brought him into a hug. She pulled back and gestured for him to sit down with the rest of them.

"Anyways these are all my friends! Let's go down the line and introduce ourselves." She smiled at her group and flipped her hair behind her shoulder.

"You already know me obviously." She took a sip of her drink and glared at the girl next to her. A silence approached the group.

"Ahem!" Rarity coughed signaling the yellow haired girl next to her to speak.

"Sorry I got lost in thoughts. My name is Apple Jack. Welcome to Canterlot!" She tipped her cowboy hat.

"Hi I'm Pinkie Pie! It's so nice to meet you!" She reached out her hand to Mordecai wanting to shake it. As he reached out to shake her hand she grabbed his hand and shook it enthusiastically. After 30 seconds of hand shaking with Pinkie Pie, Rarity coughed again. As she did, Pinkie Pie let go and smiled at him.

"Hi, I-I'm Fluttershy.." She lowered her head and whispered.

"I'm sorry, I didn't get that. Could you say that again?" After moments of silence Rarity decided to chime in. she quietly whispered into his ear.

"Sorry about that. Her name is Fluttershy, she's not one for talking much." she pulled back and smiled at him. The somewhat sweet moment crashed when the Girl with rainbow hair spoke up.

"AnyWHO! My name is Rainbow Dash!" She smiled at him before fidgeting with her bracelets.

Throughout lunch he got to know all the girls. They were all quite nice, it was fun to interact with people other than Rigby. He talked with Rainbow Dash the most, for he felt they clicked out of all the others. They talked about their favorite bands, sports, and art. Before they could finish their current conversation about basketball the lunch bell rang signaling lunch was over. Rarity walked over to Mordecai.

"Hi there Mordecai. How did you like them?" She picked up her bag and walked next to him as they were heading back to class.

"They were all really nice. Rainbow Dash was the one I clicked with most though."

Rarity nodded her head and held her chin.

"Figures, you're both into the same type of stuff. Actually, Rigby was guessing you would talk with her the most."

"Ah, really?" He turned to her and questioned her statement. She nodded and smiled. They were in front of her design class. She bid him goodbye and walked in.

"Oh! I almost forgot." she turned her head around. "One of my friends wasn't here today." She frowned but continued to smile. "You'll meet her tomorrow, her name is Twilight." She smiled once more and bid him a final goodbye before disappearing into the room.

"Alright thank you everyone for your undivided attention, you are dismissed, have a great day." The final bell rang and at last, his day was over. By the end of the day, he already had 7 homework assignments. But to be honest, none of them were hard. He breezed through all 7 in less than 3 hours. Later in the day, Mordecai had planned to meet Rigby for dinner. He had quite a lot of time to spend until dinner, so he figured he would walk around the campus.

As he walked around campus, out of the corner of his eye, he swore he saw the girl with midnight blue hair who he had bumped into later in the day. Without thinking he turned his body and ran into the direction where he saw her go.

Running out of breath, he stopped in his tracks to take a breather.

'Wait, why am I following her?'

He sighed and reflected on his actions. Running his fingers through his hair, he thought some more, and decided to turn around and spend the rest of his free time in his dorm.

Rigy: im @ the dorm prking lot! meat me ther3!

Me: Alright, see you there.

Mordecai walked out of his dorm building and towards his friend's car.

"Hey Mordie! Ready for our date?" He smirked and chuckled.

"Yea yea I got all prettied up just for you." he lifted his hands up and framed his face as if he were a model.

"Funny funny, now get in the car." Rigby raised an eyebrow and opened the passenger seat door.

"So how was your first day at Canterlot high?"

Mordecai looked out the window and rested his hand in his cheek.

"It was fine I guess."

"Really? Rarity told me otherwise." Rigby smiled at him before focusing back at the riots in front of him.

"She told me you seemed to really click with Rainbow Dash." Rigby nudged Mordecai's arms and laughed.

Mordecai turned to look at Rigby. He looked furious.

"Woah woah calm down Mordie, I didn't mean it." Rigby frowned at his friend's attitude.

"Sure, whatever." Mordecai rolled his eyes and faced the window once more, the rest of the car ride to dinner was silent.

"Thanks for the food, Rigby. Sorry I acted like a dick earlier." He dropped his hands into his jacket pocket, and looked to the side staring into nowhere.

"Ah, it's alright. I should apologize as well. I'm sorry bro." Rigby awkwardly tugged his collar, and coughed.

"I'll walk you to your room." Rigby smiled and walked towards the dorm building with Mordecai.

"Thanks again Rigby, I'll text you tomorrow okay?"

Rigby nodded at his response and waved him goodbye before walking towards the elevator. Mordecai stopped in his tracks and thought about the girl from earlier.

'I forgot to tell him about..her..Ah..is it too late to get him? Whatever I'll do that tomorrow..'
