Chapter 28 - Leave the Door Open

The night was great except I lost track of him at the party. But my thoughts were racing in my mind. It was good seeing him. And touching him, again. Maybe he realized he missed me like I missed him. Or maybe I shouldn't rush back into his arms again. He never even let me explain the situation.  Just cut me off for over 2 months even though I texted and called numerous times.  Of course I knew he was busy  with his music and show's but that didn't stop him from being seen out at after parties.   

I sat staring out the window of the rental car watching the scenery as Nika drove us back to the Hotel. 

She looked over at me asking, "So?  You gonna see him again or what?"

My mind still racing didn't even notice she was talking til the car stopped and she spoke again.

"Hello! Earth to Che!" She said,  "Girl, you ok?"

I finally shook my thoughts from my head and answered her.  "Oh, I'm sorry what did you say?" 

"Ah duh... Bruno?  Are you gonna try to catch up with him before we leave here?" She asked.

I took a deep breath and replied, "It was good seeing him.  I don't know.  We have a lot of catching up and unresolved issues" 

"Yea true but, maybe it's time to do that," she said as the bellmen  opened our doors to help us get out.   She told him her room number and he drove away as we walked into the busy lobby.   People were milling about or chilling and also moving from the bar and restaurant to the lobby.   It was midnight and Area 31 was still open for a private event for Miami fashion week.   Nika saw some friends so we went in and out to the pool area.  People were drinking and laughing and just chilling.  We ran into Lonnie and his crew again.  I asked where Bruno was  and Lonnie said he went to his room  Nika joked that I should go to his room.  I rolled my eyes and thought about it.   Nika tried to pry Lonnie for info but he didn't budge.  While they talked and flirted I decided to call it a night. 

"Hey y'all enjoy your night I'm tired so I'm going up to my room," I said.

"You sure you not gonna go check on B," Nika teased me. 

Lonnie just laughed and said "Good night Che."

"Good night Lonnie! Take care of my girl please! Make sure she gets to her room safely!"  I smiled and I winked, "Cinderella you need to go to bed too!" I said to Nika. 

She smiled and "Good night party poop!"

I then went to my room and decided to text Bruno.

Me:  Hey you sleep?
Bruno:  Heyyy you.  Yea I'm sleep. 🙄
Me:  Oh ok sorry to wake you!
Bruno:  Duh yea  I'm texting you while I 😴
Me: Okkkk geez 😅 Answer your phone!

I ended up calling his phone and We talked a little more then he said "Hey you wanna come up for a drink? I'm sippin your favorite wine."

I smiled and asked "Are you dressed? Cause you said you were sleeping and all."  I giggled.

"Nah, I'm in a robe, all alone."  He laughed.

Then I said "It's late, but maybe."

Then he gave me his room number and we hung up.

After I got off the phone I went to my bathroom to freshen up and take a shower cause it was a long day. I put on my yoga pj pants and a tank top then pulled my hair up. Then I grabbed my bag and headed to his room.

Aisha had moved her things out earlier that day and at this point he didn't give a damn.  He knew it wasn't a good idea to invite her in the first place.   Miami will always be his and Che's place.  It's where they met and made the best memories.   He started thinking about those memories.......
