Chapter 19 - Wedding Bells - Part 2

I turned to see Ryan walking towards me saying "I thought that was you!!  B didn't say you were in town!"  I smiled and he gave me a hug.  "Oh my gosh! Ryan! How are you?"   "I'm great!" He replied.  "And Gabriela?" I asked.  "She's great too! Hopefully we'll all get together again since you're back!" He said.  My heart hurt and I felt a little ill but I smiled and played it off saying "Oh.. yea... of course.  I'd love to see her again."   I knew I wouldn't but it was awkward because it seemed he didn't know Bruno and I were not seeing each other anymore.    After some small talk we said goodbye and I went into the hotel.    I checked in and the bellman had already proceeded to take my luggage to my room.   Before going up I explored the massive lobby and checked out the shops and peeped in a couple restaurants.   Then I noticed the time and headed to my room. The room was beautiful, with a pretty balcony with seating and flower pots holding beautiful fuchsia flowers. I unpacked then took a shower and prepared for the evenings events.

Meanwhile Ryan arrived at the house seeing Phil's car in the driveway. He walked in and called out to Bruno.. "Yo B! I picked up some more beer!" as he walked to Bruno's room. He stopped at Bruno's room where he saw Phil sitting in one of the chairs changing the channels on the TV. As Bruno had his luggage out on the bed and he folded pants and shoved them in one of suitcases. Ryan asks.. "Where you off to?" as he takes a seat on the bed next to the suitcase. Bruno continued his packing as Phil answered.. "Chasing pussy!!" and he busts out laughing. Bruno stopped and glared at them both as they laughed and slapped five when Ryan asks "Seriously?" looking confused. "Fuck you Phil!" Bruno said as he continued his packing. "No, seriously", Ryan said, "She just got here and y'all leaving already?" He asked. "She who? Niggah what chu talkin bout?" Bruno asks irritated. Phil sits up saying "Yea she who? Cause this niggah heading to New York to put the cuffs on Che'" Ryan looks at Bruno and Phil confused as hell now saying. "New York? Hold up! Why you going to New York to cuff her when you can cuff her right here!" Then Phil laughs and gets up putting his arm on Ryan's shoulder saying "Damn Ryan, I know you slow and all but try to keep up!" Ryan pushes Phil saying "Fuck you bald headed muthafucka!" Phil and Bruno laugh as Phil explains... "Bruno found out Che' is getting married and we're going to New York so he can stop her!" Ryan shakes his head smiling and pushing Phil's arm off him saying "Yea well news flash Niggahs, you ain't gotta go to New York cause I just saw Che' a few hours ago!" Bruno and Phil both look at Ryan. Bruno stops packing and walks to Ryan saying "This ain't the time to play aiight!" "I ain't playing! I thought you knew she was here! I just saw her! I mentioned you and she didn't act like you didn't know!" Ryan said. "She didn't mention getting married. But wait.. why would you think that?" Bruno says "Long story. But where you see her and what was she doing?" Ryan explained everything. Then Phil said he knows someone that works at the Hotel and he can try to find out some info. Relieved Bruno stopped packing and they went and grabbed some beer and went outside to smoke, while Phil made some calls.

Bruno and the guys sat outside sipping beer and smoking while Phil made a few calls to find his friend that works at the hotel.  Bruno was feeling confident about getting to Che before the wedding. Then Phil finally got off the phone smiling saying "It's all set.   The wedding rehearsal is tonight and then there's a dinner at the hotel Restaurant afterwards." Phil's friend suggested that they come down and have drinks at the bar because they're liable to see any of the wedding party around.    Then Phil left and Bruno went inside to shower and get ready to go to the hotel.   After his shower he decided to call me on a whim.  He sat on his bed, towel around his waist with his phone pressed to his ear.  

Me and the other brides maids had hung out by the pool with Jessica to get a little glow before the rehearsal tonight.   While heading back to my room I hear my phone ring.  I look at the caller ID... Bruno...   I knew it wouldn't be long that Ryan would tell him I'm here.  I hesitate to answer because he broke it off with me and I'm not sure I can handle more heart break.  In a weak moment my nervous finger hits the accept button.   Shit!  My heart races..  I answer it but it's too late and he hangs up.   I get ready to call him back but Jessica calls.  "Che!  I need you to come to my room as soon as you're dressed!  I need your help."  I smile..  "Ok I'll hurry and be right there!"  Then I hang up and go take my shower and get dressed.    The rehearsal and dinner is supposed to be casual so I put on a cute white graphic tee and distressed to my knees jean shorts and to dress it up a little I put on a pair of strappy silver heels.   I look at my phone again to see if Bruno called again but he hasn't.   It's best anyway.  My heart aches a little again and I dab the tears in my eyes after applying my makeup.  I can't let my feelings ruin this weekend for my very dear friends.  I put on my red lipstick and grab my phone and throw my red gucci crossbody over my shoulders and head over to Jessica's room.

Jessica and the other girls are all in the room.  She bought two wedding gifts for Justin so she wanted me to help her pick which one to give to him tonight.   Then we head down to the rehearsal.

Meanwhile Bruno hangs up the phone thinking she don't wanna talk to me and I can't blame her.   Then he gets dressed.   He puts on a nice shirt and jeans and his gold chains and his black leather jacket.  He remembers its Che's favorite.  Feeling nervous the first time in a long time thinking he didn't really want to crash the wedding rehearsal dinner but maybe somehow bump into Che some kinda way.  Either way he had to get to her.    He got in his Cadillac and drove to pick up Phil.  Then they arrive at the Beverly Hills Hotel.  Phil's friend told them to meet her in the lounge so they went to the bar and ordered a couple of drinks.   They sip their drinks as they check out the bar and watch for Phil's friend.  A couple of girls notice Bruno and came over to say hello to him.  He was kind to them taking photos and making small talk but he had his mind on trying to find Che.   Finally Phil's friend came.  "Hey stranger!" She said to Phil as she walk toward them.  Phil got up and hugged her.  Then introduced her to Bruno.  She didn't have the whole story but enough to know they were looking for someone part of the Timberlake Wedding.   She finally had to go back to work leaving the guys in the bar but not after telling them which restaurant the dinner would be in.  Bruno got frustrated and told Phil they should just leave.  So they finished their drinks and left.  As they were walking thru the lobby Bruno heard his name and they stopped when they saw Justin walking towards them.   Bruno and Phil were both surprised at their luck.   Bruno was kinda mad and glad to face the man that was taking the only girl he wanted.   Justin reaching his hand out to Bruno saying "Good to see you guys!!  What are you doing here!"  Bruno shook his hand as Justin tried to hug him but Bruno gave a half hearted shoulder hug.  Phil shook his hand also saying "Good to see you as well! What you been up too?",  Phil said already knowing of course.   "I'm marrying the love of my life tomorrow!" Justin said smilin.  Phil stepped slightly in front of Bruno when he saw Bruno's face and jaw tighten, saying "Congratulations!!"  Bruno looked at Phil annoyed.  Then Phil shook his head lookin at Bruno.  Then Bruno said "Yea, congratulations.  I hope you both are happy."  Justin says "Man you know it! But I'm sorry about you and Che.  She's a good girl you know," he continued.   His words only made Bruno even more angry.  Phil noticed and said "So where is the lucky bride to be?"  Justin looked around saying, "Well our rehearsal dinner is about to begin, ahh oh wait!  There she is!!", he said looking in the direction of some ladies.   Then Bruno and Phil both look in the same direction.   There were several pretty ladies walking and talking together.   Bruno watched as the group  walked through the Lobby toward the ladies room.  He stared as he saw his Che, long dark curly hair flowing, red lips, dimples, looking fly as always.  He whispered to himself "Damn Still fly"
