Everything Has Changed (pt2)

Josie just sits there in Ethan's apartment, waiting for him to walk through the door. No, dreading when he walks through that door.
The door swings open and Ethan walks into the apartment. "Hey, Jo I'm sorry, I know I said I was going to cook dinner tonight but I'm so exhausted so I brought chinese food and-"
"Ethan". The way she says his name makes his stop dead in his tracks. "We need to talk". He places the takeout on the counter and crosses the room to sit beside Josie. He silently takes her hands, waiting for her to continue. "Ethan I-" she looks away from him, not being able to look him the the eye. "god this is so much harder to say than I thought it would be" she laughs, nervously. He fears her next words, is this it? Is she leaving him? He never should have pushed her away for so long, if he hadn't maybe she wouldn't be doing this.
"I know this isn't what we planned, to be honest I don't even know what we had planned but this... this is definitely going to change everything". She takes a deep breath, in a futile attempt to compose herself. "Ethan, I'm pregnant"
He silently lets go of her hands and stands up, pacing the room. This is it. She knows this is it, he's leaving her. Each step he takes becomes more and more agonising. The silence is so loud. Deafening.
Josie is unaware of how long it has been like this, it could have been seconds, it could have been hours. Ethan lets out a deep, shaky breath breaking the silence. He turns around and crouches before her, delicately placing his hands on her abdomen. "We're having a baby?" he asks, voiced fill with hope.
Josie looks at him in disbelief. Did he actually want this? She had prepared herself for the worst case scenario and here he is, filled with joy. "We're having a baby" she says, smiling. He beams at her, moving his hands from her abdomen to her face, kissing her with so much love and tenderness.
Josie pulls away, placing her hand on his chest. "Are you sure you're okay with this? That you actually want this?"
"Do you" he asked, fearing he's misread the situation and upset her. "If you don't want this, that's fine Jo it's your decision and I'll support you no matter what you-"
"I do. I want this" she interrupts. She looks down to her abdomen, her thumb stroking it ever so slightly. "I just didn't think you would".
Ethans places his fingers under her chin and gently lifts her head to meet his eyes. "I love you Josie, and I want to have a life with you, to raise this baby with you. Our baby". She smiles at him, tears starting to form in her eyes, although these ones are not of sadness they are tears of joy.
"And I love you". She leans him to kiss him, the kiss so short yet so full of love. She takes his hand from her face and moves it onto her abdomen. "and I know our baby does too".
