Dream POV: (thoughts are italicized)

"DREAM OH MY GOD YOUR SO BAD," Sapnap screamed as the big red words "Your Bed Has Been Destroyed'' popped up on all 4 of our screens.

I could hear Karl and Quackity just absolutely losing it in the background. All 4 of us have been playing Minecraft for the past 3 hours but bedwars for about an hour. This round though we swapped roles. So instead of Karl and Sapnap staying at the base protecting the bed, Quackity running back and forth getting diamonds and emeralds, and me going around and killing everyone and destroying beds. I stayed at the base, Karl and Quackity went around "killing" everyone, and Sapnap went back and forth getting diamonds and emeralds. I finished protecting the bed but I got bored of course so I snuck out of the base, staying clear of Sapnap. I ran over to Blue's base but while I was doing that yellow came in and broke our bed which caused Sapnap to freak out. Eventually, he got killed because he was too busy freaking out, I got distracted and was killed by blue, leaving Karl and Quackity to win. Did they? No. Absolutely not. Karl fell into the void and Quackity tried to fireball jump but missed the landing oh so terribly.

"THAT LITERALLY ISN'T MY FAULT WHAT-" I yelled back since it was just me and my sister home and I doubt she's asleep at 12 am

"YOU LEFT THE BASE DUMBASS" Sapnap screeched back, he was home alone right now so he was being as loud as he wanted to.

Karl and Quackity still dying in the back, I groaned and clicked out of Minecraft. I laughed, "I'm hopping off for the night, see you guys tomorrow," I said as I left the discord call. They all chimed in with goodbyes but stayed in the call. I put my PC to sleep and threw myself onto my bed. I wanna see him again. His face kept running through my brain since I saw that mystery man at the diner. It's only been like a day since I saw him but I haven't gone a moment without thinking about him. Maybe Tammy will know a little about him. I nodded to myself, getting up, slipping my shoes on.

"DRISTA I'M GOING TO THE DINER ILL BE BACK SOON DON'T DO ANYTHING STUPID WHILE I'M GONE!" I screamed up to my sister and waited for a response while holding my hand on the door handle.

"OKAY! DON'T DIE WHILE YOUR OUT!" She yelled back from her room.

I laughed a little to myself and walked out to my car. I hopped in and started driving to the diner. The diner was open 24/7 so going there at midnight wasn't a rare occasion. I let whatever was on the radio play softly in the background as he just kept running through my mind. Something about this man was just...wow. I'm not sure how to describe it. He was wearing loose black jeans that were cuffed at the bottom, some white converse that had blue detailing, and a light blue crew neck that was tucked into his jeans, with a black backpack slung over one of his shoulders. It had a couple of pins on it, a rainbow, a gay flag, a 404 error sign? Which I'll have to ask about, a little plant, a smiley face, and a sunset. He also had clout goggles on the top of his head which I found interesting because those were popular like 3 years ago. One thing for sure is he wasn't from here because I've never seen him nor would someone ever dress like that or dare to have 2 pride pins on their backpack. His hair was dark brown and definitely fluffy. Like I said everything about him just...wow.

I pulled into the diners' parking lot. I parked my car and stepped out, looking down at my outfit. Black sweats a green smiley shirt and air forces. Not the best but it'll do. I fluffed up my hair and walked into the diner, seating myself at one of the counter stools. (idk what it's called but it's like a low bar? Yk most diners have them idkkk) I could hear Tammy talking in the back so I know she'd come out soon. I looked around the diner and only saw 2 other people, just 2 college kids doing their work, both with earbuds in.

"Hey sugar I didn't see you come in, how are you?" Tammy said as she walked over, brushing her hands on her apron.

"Oh I just came in and I'm okay, been better" I shrugged and looked at her.

"Well, I think I know why but in that case let's get a chocolate milkshake made for you. Gimme a quick sec!" She smiled and ran into the kitchen. Coming back only 2 minutes later with a chocolate milkshake in her hand. She slid it to me and leaned against the counter.

"So, George..." she trailed off.

I furrowed my eyebrows confused about who or what she was talking about. She caught on and took a breath, laughing a little.

"Ohhh George is the guy you so clearly can't stop thinking about. He was in here the other day with a blue shirt? You know...you looked at him for like 20 minutes." She laughed.

"How-" I questioned as I took a sip.

"Oh Clay come on now I've known you for years and I have never seen you look at anyone the way you looked at him. Out of all your girlfriends you've had you have never looked at them like that. You looked at him the way Nick and Karl look at each other. Are you kidding me or the way Quackity looks at Karl. You fell in love, babes." She smiled softly, tilting her head a little.

I sighed and took a sip shaking my head a little at the fact of how well she knows me. "Really? All that from just one look?" I questioned.

"Yup," She nodded.

"Huh..." I took another sip, "was it that obvious?" My cheeks went a little red.

"The first thing he asked was if I knew who you were and his eyes were all lit up so maybe I don't know," she shrugged.

I choked a little on my milkshake. Pause. He asked who I was. Woah woah woah. "He asked who I was? Well, what did you say?" I leaned in a little, curious as to what she said to him. I mean this is like his first impression of me.

"Well..." She started, "I said your name is clay-"

"Oh come on tammy!" I groaned and threw my arms up. I hate my name. I shook my head and looked back at her.

"Ah ah ah- calm down if you'd let me finish," she laughed, "I said your name is Clay but you like to be called Dream. You're 19 years old, you grew up here and right now you're taking a gap year from school..." she trailed off clearly leaving something out.

"And?" I asked, taking a sip.

"And that you're single," she smiled.

Oh oh oh no. I cringed. "Really?"

"I mean what yeah-" She got cut off by the doorbells ringing.

Who would be coming here this late? We both turned our attention to the door.

It's him.
