mich reaches out for teruhashi's arm, unexpectedly wrapping her hand around it. "...do you still want to eat out?" she questions, holding her breath as she waits for the pretty girl's response.

teruhashi gives mich an apologetic smile, bowing slightly to show her sincerest apology. "i'm sorry, mich. i have some things i need to finish today." she says, her gaze giving off the utmost sincerity.

before mich can even re-schedule the lunch date she wants to have with teruhashi, she halts as her vision spots you walking towards the main gate. teruhashi took notice of this as well, resulting in the pretty girl to turn her head and gleefully run up to you.

    "...what?"

For some whatever reason, the sight of you washes teruhashi with relief. it's as if she's hoping for you to stand in front of her to swat away mich's continuous pour of attention.

she raises her hand, about to rest it on your shoulder but halted when you seem to stiffened up from your position. from behind you, teruhashi peeks over your shoulder to see what may have been the cause of your sudden discomfort.

her eyes widens at the sight of a familiar friend. aiura mikoto. "aiura?" teruhashi unconsciously calls out, making the wild widowed blond turn her head. she seems so different from what she look like back in high school.

Unlike before, aiura doesn't let her hair loose anymore. she wears it up in a messy bun and she grew more comfortable in wearing eye-catching clothing. many did say that her sense of fashion is interesting and cool.

"terukoko?" aiura tilts her head, a wide smile forms her lips. she halts at the sight of you in front of kokomi.

teruhashi instantly notices this. "do you...know each other?" she questions, glancing at you and aiura.

aiura huffs, cracking up a forced smile on her lips. "sort of." she say, averting her gaze elsewhere.

you turn to teruhashi, smiling. your smile, however, looked like it was pulled up by force. "i'll...get going." you said, patting her shoulder before walking away.

teruhashi frowns at the sight of you rushing towards the gates. "terukoko." she hears aiura call out.

aiura rests her hand on her waist, with a raised brow, she spoke. "how do you know her?" she asks, her tone not as playful like it usually is.

"she's...well, she's a friend of a friend." teruhashi said. it's a much easier explanation than the rental lover misunderstanding. "how do you know her?"

aiura glances at the direction that you run into. she scowls, crossing her arms. her face softens, letting out a frustrated sigh, shoulders falling from frustration. she looks up at teruhashi with a sheepish face.

"she's an ex-girlfriend."

teruhashi can feel her jaw drop abruptly from the information. her eyes widens as she stars at aiura's flushed face. it's no wonder why aiura was looking at you as if she wanted to chase after you.

  "what?"

    "WHAT?!"

mai laughs out loud, clapping her hands which clearly shows how entertained she is from what teruhashi told her. "so she saw her ex-girlfriend that just so happened to be your friend in high school?!" she laughs. "'now, that's funny."

"how long was their relationship?" teruhashi questions, already quite invested with the history you and aiura had.

mai hums, nibbling on her toothpick, shrugging. "no idea. [ name ] doesn't really talk about her relationships. she's very private. it'd be a tight privilege to get some personal information out of her." she then points at the picture hanging above the television: teruhashi's picture with her friends. "i didn't even know that chick was her ex."
