Ever since that day, you can't seem to bring yourself to build any courage to approach Teruhashi.

You wouldn't normally be bothered by such request. Known to have a part time at a rental lover company, you're practically used to clients asking you to make romantic confession in hopes that you, a rental lover, would make them feel something.

Sometimes, it will succeed. They will long for more of what you can say to them, but this time, out of your profession. You disliked the idea and apologized for rejecting such a genuine confession. Sometimes, it will not go as plan. Your clients will admit or realize that maybe romance is not for them. Maybe having a lover would not mold their emotions into something big and overwhelming.

With such experience, anyone would think that you'd handle real confessions well, be it accepting it or rejecting it.

   They are absolutely wrong.

You are pulling every ounce of your being to avoid the pretty girl.

The pretty girl? Oh, she's doing her best looking for a way to corner a coward mouse such as yourself.

  "Did you two fight?"

You look up from the cashier counter, while sliding the cup of warm coffee towards Mai's direction. "Did who fight?" you cluelessly ask, averting eye contact that immediately gave away whatever it is that you're trying to hide.

"Oh, I don't know," Mai raises a brow. "With the pretty girl who has been constantly asking your whereabouts and following you from one building to another? If you didn't fight, you wouldn't really be pouring this much effort to avoid her. I know you, [ name ]. Something happened and you're not telling me!"

You press your finger against you lips, hushing Mai in a way of asking to keep tone of voice down. Customers seated on nearby tables may come to the assumption that a customer from the cafe you work at is complaining about your service.

"You're overreacting. Calm down." you say, your brows furrowing in an uncomfortable manner. "Listen, we didn't fight. If anything, I think we said everything we wanted to say to each other."

Mai raises a brow, to that you responded with a gentle smile. "Trust me on this one, Mai. I'll handle it." you added.

A quiet sight escapes Mai's lips, taking her hands off the counter she nodded at your sense of responsibility.

About to walk over to her table, she stops. Her eyes widens at the sight of Teruhashi walking inside the cafe. In panic, Mai turns to you only to see that you're just as surprised as she is.

The cafe bell dings as a way of notifying everyone inside, specifically the staff to take notice of a new customer that has entered: Teruhashi

So, in the end of it all, your workplace is the place Teruhashi chose as your corner.

With furrowed brows, her heels clicks on the tiled floor, it's light sounds soon getting louder as she comes closer. Her soft strands of hair flows from side to side while she walks. Despite her displeased expression, you can still see how gorgeous this woman is.

"...Y-Your order—"

"I'm not here to order anything." Teruhashi rests her hands on the counter. Taking a step back, you wander your eyes around the place, anywhere but her gaze. "Check your phone."

"My what?"

"Your phone!"

Since when was she this demanding and direct?
