This will have a lot of quotes taken directly from the manga. There will be many spoilers for season 2 of MHA. Some things were because of the story.
It was the morning of the sports festival. U.A.'s students have been training for two weeks. There were a lot of pro heroes at the event, due to the attack at USJ. There were a bunch of different booths with snacks and hero merch. Each class got their own prep room. Since there wasn't enough room in 1A's prep room, the guests were given their own. In 1A's room Todoroki was challenging Midoriya and pointing out how All Might had his eye on him. The minecrafters' room was split in two. One side was sat at a table trying to mentally prepare themselves for the event in silence. The other side was absolute chaos, some trying to loudly hype others up. Others challenging those they could never hope to beat.
Suddenly they heard Present Mic yell, signaling them to go out.
"IT'S U.A.'S SPORTS FESTIVAL!! THE ONE TIME EACH YEAR WHEN OUR FLEDGLING HEROES COMPETE IN A RUTHLESS GRAND BATTLE!!"
"FIRST UP... YOU KNOW WHO I'M TALKIN' ABOUT!! THE MIRACULOUS RISING STARS WHO BRUSHED OFF A VILLAIN ATTACK WITH THEIR STEELY WILLPOWER!!"
"THE FIRST-YEARS OF THE HERO COURSE!! OUR ONLY 45 STUDENT CLASS!! IT'S CLASS A!!"
There was a lot of cheers when the class walked out. The 25 guests were officially made part of class 1A. Everyone in the crowd knew who class A was due to the villain attack being on the news. A few students were freaking out, while others were completely calm or at least pretending to be.
"FOLLOWING CLASS B, IT'S CLASSES C, D AND E OF GENERAL STUDIES...!! AND HERE COME THE SUPPORT COURSE CLASSES, F, G AND H! AND THE BUSINESS COURSE..."
The other courses didn't look particularly happy to be there. They knew they were only there to make the hero course students look better.
"NOW FOR THE ATHLETE'S OATH!!"
The students were now in front of a stage with none other than the pro hero Midnight. Quite a few students started talking, unsure if it was really appropriate for her to be refereeing a high school game. The most recent arrivals hadn't been at U.A. and haven't even got to see Midnight in class yet. They were unaware that a hero was allowed to have a costume like that. It felt almost illegal to look at her.
"PIPE DOWN!! YOUR STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE IS... FROM CLASS 1-A, KATSUKI BAKUGO!!"
Bakugo started walking up to the stage and Class A started freaking out. This could only go bad.
"The athlete's oath... make no mistake about it. I'M GONNA TAKE FIRST PLACE!!"
This enraged the other classes. Now they thought even worse of class 1A. Quite a few students of 1A were pissed too. This made the target on their backs even larger.
"NOW, WITHOUT ANY DELAY, LET'S GET THE FIRST EVENT STARTED."
Midnight had a screen behind her, showing the event being randomly chosen.
"THESE ARE THE QUALIFIERS! IT'S IN THIS STAGE THAT SO MANY ARE SENT HOME CRYING EVERY YEAR!!"
Yeah that didn't worry anybody at all.
"AND THE FATEFUL FIRST EVENT THIS YEAR IS... THIS!!"
The screen now showed the words 'obstacle course race'.
"An obstacle course...! It's a race between every member of all eleven classes! The course is a four-kilometer lap around the stadium itself!" Around 2.5 miles for the Americans
"Our school preaches freedom in all things! heh heh heh... So as long as you don't go off the course, anything is fair game!"
"Racers, to your positions... START!!"
