❂Chapter 6: A Nightmarish evening❂

Arms linked together, you all ran home in record time and entered the gift shop, noting that it was empty you guessed Soos and Wendy were helping Stan and his brother set up. You furrowed your brows, who was Stan, and his brother? It confused you but you shrugged it off, for the time being, you guys had a party to get ready for.

You and Mabel took your room to get dressed and ready in, while Dipper took his and Mabel's room. In a way, it was going to be a surprise for both of them to see the other twin all dressed up and proper looking.

You glanced at Mabel who was having troubles with zipping her dress up, her hands couldn't quite reach the zip at the back of the dress, smiling softly you stopped applying your blush and walked over to help Mabel, after hearing the zip reach the top of her dress she spun around and hugged you tightly, you thought nothing of it and hugged her back, that was until you heard quiet sobs come from your cousin.

'hey, hey, Mabel! What's wrong??'

You asked, worried and slightly panicked. Due to this, you started overthinking,

"Do you not like the dress? I'm sorry, maybe I should have chosen the other one, it might not be too late to rush back and pick it up--"

You got cut short by Mabel grabbing you by the face with both her hands,

"Y/n, stop! The dress is perfect, I couldn't ask for anything better! Okay?"

She stated, wiping her tears with the back of her hand before sitting on your bed and continuing,

"I just- it's been a while since we all got together, and lately it seems as though everyone is too stressed and caught up with trying to make everything go as smoothly and as perfect as possible for me and Dipper but, it doesn't feel right. I just want everyone to enjoy themselves and not have to worry, if things go wrong then, hey! That's life...y'know?"

You paused, listening carefully to what she had said, you understood, she was more focused about everyone else whereas everyone else was focused on her,

"Right then, let's take it slow, okay? No rush, no need to be perfect, you just need to be yourself, Mabel. I will be right by your side, I promise!"

You responded, giving her a gentle yet reassuring smile, to which she gingerly smiled back at you,

"Well...."

She began, you smiled wider at her, already knowing what she was going to ask,

"Yes, I'll do your makeup silly, okay?"

She squealed in excitement before rushing around the room trying to find where she last put her shoes while you quickly finished up and touched up the last few bits for your makeup, you dress already put on as well as your shoes within the first few minutes of entering the room. You turned to face Mabel who was sitting back on the bed and finished zipping her shoes before looking up at you, you paused.

"You're missing something.."

You trailed off before searching in one of your suitcases,
