Awake

CHAPTER 5

Lena's POV

An hour and a half later the doctor comes in with a serious look on his face. "I'm so sorry, that you and Mr. Malik had to go through this Lena, but we have managed to revive him. Would you like to come say hello?" The doctor asks with a smile. "yes." I say standing up. As I start to follow the doctor I turn around and motion for everyone to follow.

After following the doctor through a maze of hallways we arrive at Zayn's door. "He may still be a bit drowsy so keep it down." the doctor says we all nod ok and the doctor opens the door. When I see Zayn I run over to him. Apparently everyone did also because when I reach the edge of his bed I notice everyone else beat me to him. After a series of "hey's" "I was so worried's" and "How are you mate's" Paul comes over and says "Louis, Harry, Niall, Liam. I need to speak wihth you outside." They all slowly follow him. I turn back to Zayn once the door closes and take his warm saft hand in my cold one. Brooke then clears her throat and says "um, Kimmie do you wanna go to the vending machine?" Kimmie nods her head and they leave.

The door closes and I immediately pull Zayn in for a long passionate kiss, hoping it shows him how worried I was. When we finally pull away Zayn says "wow, I need to drown more often." "no.. Don't ever scare me like that again." I say softly caressing his face. "I won't. I'm sorry we tipped the canoe." he says. "don't worry about it Zayn. It's ok" I say. "no!It's not ok. If I hadn't leaned over the boat to try to get that flower off the lily-pad then this wouldn't have happened.: "Zayn... you were just trying to be the sweet, and amazing guy you are." I say and Zayn just gives me a small smile, as I suddenly start to think 'It takes a second to notice someone, an hour to like someone and a life time to forget them' this thought makes me blurt out something I thought I wouldn't say for a long time. "I love you." Zayn's eyes widen and a look of shock covers his face "I-I love you too" and we lean into yet another passionate kiss. minutes later I hear the door opening and quickly pull away from Zayn just as Liam walks in. "Hey guys Paul wanted me to tell you that once Zayn is better we have to leave the camp. Until then we're all going back, he;s allowing one person to stay here with Zayn The other girls don't know we're leaving yet though, so it's best you don't say anything." "I want Lena to stay with me." Zayn says quickly. "Are you sure? I man one of us boys could always stay. I'm sure Harry would love to stay he's taken quite a liking to the nurses..." Liam says. "yes I'm sure. I want Lena to stay." Zayn counters "Okay, Lena do you want to stay with Zayn?" Liam asks me. "of course. If he wants me to stay then I'll stay." I reply. "Okay. I'll go tell Paul, then we need to start heading back to camp." Liam says opening the door and leaving the room.

I walk to the other side of the room, grab a chair and pull it back over next to Zayn. I sit down, and grab his hand softly stroking my thumb across it, suddenly the door is swung open I look over to the door but don;t pull my hand away from Zayn's when I see who it is. "are you two...?" Paul asks pointing at Zayn and I. I slowly nod my head yes and put my finger to my lips telling him not to tell anyone. A look of realization crosses his face and he nods his head before saying ''ummm right well I sent everyone to the van and came to tell you bye and say we'd come and pick you up when the doctors think it's ok for Zayn to leave." I get up and say bye to Paul giving him a hug as he walks out and shuts the door quietly. Before I turn around I look at my phone checking the time I see it's past 9:00. " babe it's been a long day, maybe you should get some rest." I say "yeah I'm exhausted" Zayn says. "go to bed then." I say with a smile. "ok, come here." Zayn says scooting over and patting the place next to him. I grin and hop on the bed. I make myself comfortable, and give him a quick kiss, before snuggling into his chest and almost instantly falling asleep.
