Part 8

Brody's pov
I woke up to the sound of a knock at the door and i got out of bed and walked downstairs. I saw mommy open the door and daddy came in and hugged her. I gasped and ran to him. He was in London for his work and was gone for a month.

"Hey squirt i missed you." He said and i giggled hugging him. "I missed you to daddy." I said and he kissed the top of my head and put me down. I ran over to mommy and she picked me up and sat me on the seat. I yawned and she laughed and put my food on the table.

I ate happily and i then ran upstairs and got dressed. Me mommy and daddy are going to celebrate daddy's promotion. We were walking down the street and i saw my best friend Leo and his parents.

"Hey Leo." I said and waved. "Heyyyy." He shouted and waved back running and catching up with his parents. I laughed and carried on walking.

It is now the end of the day and it was dark out and we were walking down the city streets of Gotham. I looked back and saw a really weird looking man. He had a black mask on and he was following us. He pulled us in a ally way and he shot daddy...

-Present Time- Brody's POV
I woke up and my cheeks were stained with tears. I felt the bed shift and arms wrap around me. "Shh what's a matter. Bad dream." Floyd asked and i nodded hugging me.

My dad died that day, and two years later my mom fell in love with my step dad and well Mark is OK but i miss my dad. Slade came and gave me a drink, i thanked him and hugged him. He was surprised at first but he hugged back. I laid back down and fell asleep.

Slades pov
I was out for a run like i always do. Brody hasn't tried to escape for awhile so he is starting to warm up to us.
I smirked and thought more about Brody and how much fun we are going to have.

My phone rang and i picked it up and saw that it was Floyd. "What." I said annoyed.  "Brody has ran away. I turned my back to go to the bathroom for two minutes and he was gone and the door was wide open." He said in the phone. I growled and went to look for him.

Brody's pov
My heart is pounding. I am in the passenger seat of a car and that man that i saw the first night i was here. He took me from Floyd and i didn't know what his intentions are. I am really scared,and to be honest this man could kill me. He looked about twenty and he had green eyes and black hair.

He looked like my dad, i looked out the window and we came to a cabin. He opened the door and picked me up taking me to the cabin and gently putting me on the sofa.

He put wood in the fire and sat down next to me. He looked at me and smiled gently. "Who are you?" I asked him. He tilted his head. "Wait should i, should i know you." I asked him and he looked down. "No you were only young when dad kicked me out." I gasped and looked at him more closely.

"Jacob?"
