Leaves crunched beneath their shoes. Branches snagged at their clothes. Droplets of sweat rolled down their foreheads.

Sharp, shallow breaths stung their lungs. The fast pace of Aj's running became slow, and sloppy.

If it weren't for his quick reflexes he would have face planted into the muddy ground.

The sound of Kenny's footsteps slowed down a bit in front of him. A small chuckle could be heard from the older man, as he watched Aj panting for breath with his hands on his knees.

"Not bad kiddo" he praised, taking off his backpack "water?" He added earning a small nod in return.

Aj badly wanted to gulp down the entire canteen to ease his stinging throat, but he knew they couldn't be reckless when it came to water and food.

Sensing Aj's dilemma Kenny spoke up "go ahead we'll find more"

Getting the go ahead he unscrewed the cap, and wolfed down the remainder of the water.

Kenny zipped up his back once he got the canteen back then slung it over his shoulder.

A sad smile was on his face before he let it fall down, as he turned away from him.

Despite what he told Aj water was becoming harder to find, not to mention that his own throat was patched, screaming at him for any kind of liquid to ease the dryness.

And lastly clem was still missing.

New story dolls! I decided to publish the next story on my book order, but 'playing with the wrong people' is still my top priority so if this story is not updated much it's because of that.
I Hope you have a wonderful day or night
