Xiao's POV
This was Osial's final attack...it hadn't occured during the Archon War since Rex Lapis had sealed the ancient god beneath the waves.
The serpentine heads flailed, hissing at one another but nonetheless gathering primordial energy as spheres of seawater rained down on the Jade Chamber.
Despite the years of fighting demons, it's not everyday one decides to walk up to an ancient god and kill it.
The makeshift platform created by the Tianquan started to crack, sharp glowing lines drew itself beneath my feet before completely erasing itself from existence.
I winced slightly as the rushing water in the air flew against my wound before refocusing my attention on my surroundings.
A high pitched shriek pierced the air as the traveller's companion floating helplessly watching her master fall through the sky.
The other adepti were already guiding others back, now it was my turn.

Y/N's POV
It took some time for my brain to fully register that I was falling. My eyes caught sight of Mooncarver guiding Ms Keqing back to the stability of the Jade Chamber whilst Xiao had the traveller in his arms.
A pang of jealousy hit me, perhaps it was seeing Xiao saving Aether or the fact he could teleport and move so swiftly in the air whilst I could not. I think it was the latter...maybe.
Water flew everywhere, stinging my eyes and forcing them shut. Tears started coming as the salt irritated my eyeballs.
The air suddenly felt cold as strong arms wrapped around me.
"Why are you crying? I thought you said you were strong?" Xiao muttered as he travelled to the edge of the floating mansion.
"I'm not! Have you ever had salt in your eyes? Hmmm?" I huffed but could not stop the smile that threatened to break through.
I glanced over at Osial who seemed to have stop summoning his insides out.
"Huh, I don't remember him ever being this ca-" I clamped my mouth shut as the god let out an ear-piercing roar, sending shockwaves through the Jade Chamber, causing it to rock violently.
"XIAO!" Mine, the Traveller's and Paimon's voices merged together as a half unconcious adeptus who was standing close to the edge stumbled over the edge.
I let out a bitter laugh as Mooncarver went after the unconscious adeptus, "After so many years, he still doesn't know the basic safety rules," This time, real tears threated to emerge.
Several silent seconds passed, silent as in everyone who was in on the Jade Chamber since Osial was still roaring it's throat sore; before the Stag made his entrance with a fully unconscious Anemo-visioned boy draped across his back.
Lady Ningguang nodded in respect towards the adeptus before turning her attention towards the raging god in deep thought.
"I'll sacrifice the Jade Chamber," One bold statement caused all the heads to turn to her.
"But Lady Ning-" Ganyu stopped as Ningguang raised her hand.
"This is my final decision. Traveller, would you please," Aether nodded as he brought out his sword.
I watched in confusion as Ningguang raised her hands, commanding the chamber forward before coming to a stop once it was directly above the Overlord of the Vortex.
"Farewell, my old friend. Let us meet again in the future," Ningguang's voice was firm but I could detect sadness in her eyes. She was parting with one of her most prized possessions in order to retain the peace in her city. Anyone with dedication to the place they love would sacrifice something dear to them in order to benefit all. I realised this thousands of years after I parted with the one that gave me a future.
