Mum,

We promised we'd write to you soon, so here it is.

It's been a whole day since we left, we're currently staying at a small hotel, nothing too fancy. Doesn't matter really, we spend most of the day outside, and half of the night as well.

Italy's beautiful, so far the plan is to visit Rome, Tuscany, and Venice, of course! Harry insists on taking loads of photos, I think it's a bit of a waste, but he's paying for them anyway. I'll be sending you our favourites for safekeeping.

Hedwig isn't as enthusiastic about this weather as we are, so she's eager to leave us and deliver the letter to you. Maybe you should consider sending Pig— although he's so tiny I'm afraid he'll sweat to death! Best to keep using Hedwig, in my opinion, or you could ask Erick for Cassiopeia instead?

Harry's currently writing a letter to Uncle Moony, so these may arrive around the same time. If not, feel free to tell him and Tonks we miss them and we send loads of kisses and hugs to Teddy (and Reggie as well).

I don't have much to tell you yet, but I hope my next letter is at least three pages long.

Loves you,

Mel.

"Can't believe it's our third day here and you already got sunburnt," Mel huffed, gently spreading the gel around Harry's nose and cheeks. "Not even your dad was this careless! He hated getting freckles, which is ironic cause Mum says he loved Lily's..."

"How do you know that?" Harry moved her hand away with an amused frown.

"Sirius and I used to talk all the time! I told you, remember? When I was still mad at you and all, he would spend hours and hours telling me stories about our parents when they were younger."

"What else did he tell you?"

"That your dad and my dad used to get into ridiculous fights over their heights. That they were both lightweights so they were the firsts to throw up at parties. He also said our mums used to have petty little competitions before becoming friends, and Lily always drove my mum mad cause she was smarter, but then she had better reflexes, so mum was ahead of her on charms and D.A.D.A."

"It sounds a bit like us, all of that," Harry smiled. "Don't you think?"

Mel tilted her head. "The petty competitions to outdone one another sound familiar, yes..."

"What about you getting all angry about my height?"

"It's so unfair, the Dumbledores are very tall people!"

"The Sultens are very short, though, you shouldn't be complaining," He hissed after accidentally scratching his reddish nose. "What about being a lightweight? You drink four pints and it's over for you—"

"Oh shut up, I'll get better with time," She stuck out her tongue, making him chortle. She finished her healing and stared at it proudly. "All good. Tomorrow you'll be wearing a hat and about three layers of sunscreen. No swimming, you'll have to wait."

Harry groaned, he held her wrist and kissed the side of it.

"Very well. But you'll tell me more stories about our parents and Sirius."
