As we pulled up to the district there was a knock on the window that scared the shit out of me. Adam rolls down the window and it was Kevin.

"Hey Adam, Bella. I have a present for you."

"What is it?" I say while Adam is getting out of his Jeep.

"Mommy." Gracelyn says.

"Oh come here baby. I missed you so much."

Gracelyn had a huge smile on her face as we walked into the 21st district.

"Bella, it is nice to see you. Adam? What did you do? She is cheery."

"She just has a boyfriend and her kid now. Time flies, Sarge."

Trudy rolled her eyes as she buzzed up the four of us.

"Adam. You know that today is not bringing your family to work right."

"You're wrong. Everyone, this is Bella, my girlfriend and also the ex to the suspect we are looking for, and this is Gracelyn, her daughter and also Jay's niece. Ok, Bella, This is Jay Halstead, your brother. That there is Hailey Upton . Over there is Antonio Dawson. There is Kim Burgess and over there is Vanessa Rojas and last but not least Kevin Atwater but you already met him. Everyone, this is Bella Jones."

"Hi Bella." Everyone said together.

"Adam, I thought you said you were the hot one out of the unit." That makes everyone laugh then Voight walks in.

"Hey, that is hurtful."

"It's okay you're still my teddy bear."

"Everyone I see you have met Bella and her daughter Gracelyn. She will help us look for her ex."

After a while we found a place that Jack might be. I begged to come because I wanted to beat the shit out of him. Finally Voight said yes. I left Gracelyn with her grandma. Me, Adam, Kevin and Vanessa were in Adam's work truck. As we are on the road Vanessa says something that shocks me.

"Bella, why did you leave your kid with your abusive father?"

I could feel Adam squeeze my hand to confort ms as he knew that it was a hard topic to talk about especially with people I don't know.

"Do you want me to tell them.?" Adam whispered in my ear.

I know that I should tell them myself but I couldn't. I nodded my head yes and the. Adam started telling my story when Vanessa interrupted with a very rude comment and I was about done. I wanted to slap right across the face.

"Your protector of all things scary is going to tell us. What a baby."

"Vanessa, shut the fuck up. You have no idea of what she has been through."

"So just because your brother raped her means that you need to take care of her."

"Vanessa if you don't shut up I will kick you out of this car. You do not get to talk to her like that. She is scared for her child's life. She is scared that her ex-boyfriend is going to find her and she is scared that her dad is hurting her mom. She doesn't need your bullshit on top of it."

"Fine, I'll walk the rest of the way then."

Vanessa gets out and I start crying. I would have preferred if Kevin wasn't there but he just stood up for me.

"Bella that was uncalled for I'm so sorry."

"Dude, just drive."

The rest of the car ride was silent. Adam still sat there rubbing my back. When we got to the house. Hank ordered Antonio and Kim in the back door. Atwater and Ruzek through the side door and Jay Hailey and him through the front door. All I hear is gunshots. Adam. I wanted to go in there so badly but I had to think. I knew that he had a whole team to cover for him. Then they walk out with Jack in cuffs. I got out of the car and I punched Jack in the face.

"Baby calm down."

I walked over to Vanessa and I let all my anger out. Which led to me punching Vanessa in the face a few times and then screaming at her.

"I'M NOT A BABY. I HAVE FEARED FOR MY LIFE SINCE I WAS FOURTEEN. IF THAT MAKES ME ANYTHING IT MAKES ME BRAVE. I'M NOT GOING TO STAND HERE AND TAKE YOUR CRAP. WHAT DO YOU HAVE AGAINST ME!"

"Baby calm down. Come on, let's go."

Adam and I walked to his truck and I cried. Adam just held me until I started to calm down.

"What does she have against me? I did nothing wrong."

"I don't know but I do know what will make you feel better."

"What?"

"How about we get you a big milkshake and a big hug from your daughter."

"Yeah. That would make me feel better. Thank you Adam."

"Of course."

Me and Adam were in the front and Kevin and Jay were in the back.

"Do you guys know what Vanessa's problem is?"

"I have no idea. She was really shitty to me when she found out that I was going to babysit Gracelyn."

"Thank you for standing up for me earlier."

"You don't have to thank me. Any friend of Adam is my friend."

"And you know that as your brother I always have your back right.

"Aww. I know."

Adam starts rubbing my leg.

"Adam, do you have something you need to tell me?"Jay says.

"Oh shit yeah Um."

"Adam, it is ok. Just don't hurt her or I will end you."

"Copy that."

"Copy that." I mocked Adam.

"Hey I'm offended."

"No you're not. You think it is cute."

"You know what I do think it's cute. You are the cutest all the time."

Thankfully he got what I was trying to do. I lean in and I kiss him. I was trying to make Jay and Kevin uncomfortable. Mission accomplished.

"Eww. Don't forget that near me."

"Oh come on Jay. You are such a baby."

"You know what. I admit it. I'm a baby."

"Wow."

"Hi, Mr. Cutie. I miss your kisses already, can you give me another one?"

"Of course you can."

I put my lips against his. I felt the sparks again. Wow. I'm really falling in love with him.

"Bella please stop."

"No, I refuse to. Come here Mr. Cutie."

It was fun making Jay uncomfortable. After driving for 5 minutes I pull over and I make Kevin and Jay sit in the front so I can be in Adam arms.

"I'm glad you are my teddy bear Mr. Cutie."

"Bella. I swear if you don't stop I will make you walk all the way back to the district."

"You can't make me, you are not my dad."

"But I am your big brother. Atwater help me out dude."

"Jay leave her alone, you are lovey dovey with Hailey all the time. She likes him. Don't crush her dreams."

"Adam, thank you for everything that you have done for me. I really appreciate it."

"Of course Bella you deserve it."
