Hanging out with Bucky in your room has always been a joy, today, however, he seems to not really be here. He's spacey, not paying attention to you. You know he's doing his best, but it just isn't working.

"Buck, what's on your mind?" you ask, sitting up, so you aren't laying on top of him anymore. Playing with your small purple sparks in your palm, you form a butterfly, which sits comfortably on your hand.

"I... don't know how to explain it..." He sits up to join you.

"Well I'm not a mind reader, and you won't pay attention to me, which, quite frankly, is not you, so just do your best."

He pauses for a second, his eyebrows furrowing as he turns his head towards you, "Do you remember when you asked if you could hang out with Loki more? In a... Not as friends sort of way?"

"Yeah, I do, are you not comfortable with that anymore?"

"No! That's not what I'm trying to say..."

"Come on Barnes, spit it out."

"I wanted to ask you if I could..." You can hear him take a deep breath.

"Did you want to ask someone out?"

He nods, almost holding his head in shame. You grab his hand, trying to reassure him that it's okay.

"Of course you can, I'm going to hold you to the same standard as I hold myself. Who is this mystery person?"

"Steve..." Bucky looks away as you start to smile.

"I knew it! I knew you guys couldn't just be friends!"

You see the smile on Bucky's face as he turns back to you, "And why is that Doll?"

"Well you guys both grew up in Brooklyn, which is like famously gay in that time period, especially for the time period, and when I did research on you I could only ever find this one tiny ass apartment under your names. And I've seen the way you look at him... That look doesn't come from friendly love."

Bucky smiles and laughs. "You got me, love."

Smiling, proud of yourself, you continue, "Okay, but now you have to go ask him out. Go get your mans Sargent Barnes."

Bucky smiles, biting his lip, "Okay Doll. Thank you."

"Of course Buck, if I'm allowed to be dating both you and Loki, then you can have the Captain."

Bucky smiles as he walks out the door to go find Steve.

"Hey Steve?"

"Yeah, Buck?"

"If it's okay with you, I wanted to talk about... the past?"

"You never want to talk about HYDRA? What changed?"

"I didn't mean them... I meant before that. When we were living together in Brooklyn?"

"Like my mother?"

"My god you're oblivious. No, when I asked you to go to Coney Island with me. Do you remember that?"

"Of course I do, up until that point it was the best day of my life. What are you asking?"

"Would you maybe want to do something like that again sometime?"

"Buck... No... Don't you have a girlfriend?"
