game day

A little more than a month has passed. You're now 7 weeks pregnant. You're not showing much, it just makes you look slightly bloated.
It's the day of a big game for Suna and his team. You're present with Osamu and Atsumu. It's been such a long time since you've last seen him play and you enjoyed it. Their team is currently winning.

"Two more points and they got it" Osamu says and grabs onto the railing. He seems nervous and excited. You smiled and pat his hand.

"They're going to win" you whisper hopefully. Your eyes fixated on one particular player.
And just then they make another point, meaning only one point's left from their win.

The people around you scream in excitement and applaud, while it echoes all around. You clap a few times and then concentrate again. "Come on" you whisper to yourself.

~ time skip ~

A win for Suna's team.

Both teams bow to eachother and then walk away to their locker rooms. Suna hasn't noticed you yet.
"Let's go downstairs" Osamu takes your hand and drags you with him. Atsumu following behind.
You frown but let it happen.

After having waited for about 20 minutes, the team comes out and you let them pass up until Suna walks out. His face lights up upon seeing you but he hides it quickly turning back to his neutral expression.

"Hey good job man" Osamu says. Atsumu pats his shoulder.
"Thank you!"

Suna glances at you multiple times and then steps towards you. You get nervous and start fidgeting your fingers.

He looks at you directly and then away again, his hand scratching the back of his head. "I'm glad you came, I would've never thought" He smiles faintly.

You smile back at him and then waved it off. "Oh it was really nice seeing you play again"

His face lights up once again, more noticeable now. Osamu and Atsumu quickly wave to you and then walk away, much to your protest. Suna looks around and then takes your hand leading you to an empty bench in the hallway.

"Hey Rintaro, are you coming with us?" a male voice suddenly exclaims. He turns towards the door and replies: "I'll follow you after"

He turns towards you again and you look at him with questions all over your face. He chuckles. "Maybe we can talk a bit" You just nod, your hand getting sweaty because Suna is still holding it. He realizes and quickly lets it go.

"About what exactly?" you then ask nervously and he leans back, his head on the wall behind. His eyes staring at the opposite wall. You shift your gaze too, now looking at that wall.

"Hm, how's your family?" he asks. "It's been ages"

You look down at your hands. "They're all doing alright. My mum kept asking about you in the beginning"
His face shifts towards you a bit and he smiles. "Oh really, well my sister still misses you"

You smile with your face still down. You used to play with her all the time and she loved your company. It really broke your heart to leave her.

"How about yourself?" you then ask him. He runs his fingers through his hair and sighs. "Volleyball distracts me."
You know what he's talking about. And you know you are on the same page. You just never had any distraction for yourself.

"I'd just like to say sorry, for what happened, knowing that most of it was on my part.." he says, his lips barely moving. You lift your head and look at the ceiling. To prevent the newly built up tears from falling.

"And that you know, no matter what, I'll always be here for you."

You smile sadly. "Suna"

"You can still call me Rin if you want"

"Well Rin, did you ever miss me?"

He exhales deeply. "All the time, Y/n" he turns to look at you and whispers once again. "All the time"
He nods to you, meaning for you to answer your own question too.

You look at him. "All the time"

He smiles. "You still have one of my hoodies that you never gave me back"
You laugh and shake your head. "It used to smell like you"

"You know your eyes sparkle so beautifully when you laugh" he says, his head against the wall again. You blush slightly and look at the opposite wall. "I haven't seen that in so long"

You start tearing up again and this time you let it flow. Upon hearing your sobs, Suna turns around and his eyes widen. "Y/n.. I'm sorry if I'm talking too much right now.. I will stop-"

"No no that's not the problem Rin" you wipe your tears and look at him with red eyes. He hesitantly moves his fingers along your face and wipes your tears for you. "There's something I need to tell you"

"What is it?" he looks at you with a smile, that relaxes you a bit.

"About the party"

"Oh yeah, so?"

"You know how we ended up being together"

"Yeah we should've talked about that sooner"

"Well there is something..."

"What?"

You gulp and feel tears building up again. His gaze is intense and you feel a lot of pressure. And fear. A lot of fear. What will he say?

"Y/n, just tell me" he says quietly, not in a rushing way but a lot more understanding.

"I'm pregnant"

Your eyes are lowered, looking at your lap. And absolute silence.

"You're.. pregnant?" he asks, whispering the last part. You nod and look up at him. His expression between confusion and shock. Tears start falling down your cheek.

"And you're sure it's mine?"

"It can only be you"

He looks at you and his face softens. His eyes taking in, you and then your abdomen area, that's hidden behind your sweater.

"I understand if you don't want to be apart of this all, I just thought I'd let you know bec-"

"Y/n" he interrupts. His thumb wiping away your tears again.

You look at him. His hand not leaving your cheek.
"I've loved you before and I still do. And I always will. In my heart you're still mine" he smiles "Even if all of this wasn't planned I am as happy as ever because you're the only one I want, because I can't see you love anyone else. I understand it though if you don't feel like that anymore"

You start crying again and he cups your face. "Hey no I didn't mean to.."

"I love you too, I still do, I always will" you say inbetween soft sobs.

"You do?"

"Mhm, do you really?"

"I do, I really do, I miss everything about you and now that you're having my child... how could I not?"
he whispers.

Your faces draw closer and then your lips touch. It's as if a million memories just flood your mind again. His lips soft and yours wanting them more and more. You put your arms around him and kiss him deeper. The kiss slow and longing. Two lovers separated for far too long.

After a while you both part, your forehead against his, both of you catching your breaths. You meet his gaze and he smiles. "F*ck I missed this"

"We've kissed at the party" you tease him.

"But now we're sober" he replies with a grin.

You nod and gently caress his cheek. He leans into your touch.

He then moves away and kneels down in front of you. He looks up and you nod. His hands lift up the hem of your shirt slowly, revealing your belly.
"This is more than amazing" he whisper and leans in, giving your belly a few small kisses. "I'm going to be a father.." his lips hovering above your skin.

You run your fingers through his hair and softly massage his scalp. He puts his forehead against your belly with eyes closed and his arms around you.

It feels like heaven on earth, once again.
