"Skipping?!" A familiar voice said from behind in the library-well it was sort of a room people would chill in.
"And? Why would you care Bartley?" I huffed as he sat next to me,
"I had to sit by Porridge for a whole hour. That's why I care."
"Porridge?"
"Isabella Porridge."
"Partridge. Her name is Isabella Partridge."
"Yes I know. Its a nickname, get some sense of humor Averill."
"Why are you still here?"
"Where's your little friend Niah?"
"Detention."
"What a surprise."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"She's a bad influence on you. You obviously didn't want to be in that P.E class, then you skipped math."
"Well maybe those were my ideas." I argued, keeping eye-contact. I still had to look up at him when we were both sat down, even though we were only a few inches off. I was 5'6 and Bartley was around 5'11.

I turned back around and stared at my phone, him still looking at me. He quickly snatched the phone out of my hand,
"Im talking to you." He raised his voice seen as no one else was in here,
"No you weren't." I snatched my phone back,
"The f*ck is your problem?" I muttered, he shook his head.
"No seriously. What is your problem?" I flipped off, "yesterday you said you hated Dylan then today you hang out with him. What's your plan Bartley?!" I shouted,
"Gonna steal all my friends?! You're some sly little c*nt, that's what you are." I stormed off,

He stopped me quickly and went to lock the door,
"Ohh you gonna murder me now? Huh?!"
I could see him tensing his body,
"Just shut up would you!" He argued,
"Oh yeh? What are you gonna do?!" I shouted and went to unlock the door, he turned me around swiftly. Pushing me against the locked door, looking down on me his lips touched mine.
I tried not to kiss him back but I couldn't help myself, his soft lips were too good to resist. We just kissed for about 5 seconds then he stopped and stared at me, I didn't know what to do. I was speechless. I unlocked the door and ran out, bumping into yet another random person.

"Sorry." I muttered and tried to escape out of a crowd,
"Hey! You okay?" The boy asked. I paused, I could sense Bartley's eyes watching me. He ran out of the library to get me,
"She's fine." He looked the boy up and down in a disgusted way and grabbed my arm firmly. The boy walked away confused as Bartley dragged me under the staircase the crowd was walking up.
"Why'd you run off?" He asked,
"Why'd you kiss me?"
"Why'd you kiss me back?"
"I don't know. I froze, I didn't know what to do."
"You couldn't resist yourself could you? I mean who wouldn't want to kiss me?"
I furrowed my eyebrows at this comment,
"You're an ass-hole." I walked off into the crowd, finding my next class.

Days passed by and I tried to avoid Bartley at all cost, although I actually hadn't seen his sister in a while.
"Hey. What's up with you lately?" Niah asked curiously,
"It's nothing, just homesick I guess." I lied, "Also, have you seen Jemima Bartley around lately? I haven't seen her for a while-not that I miss her."
"You haven't heard?"
"No. What?"
"All the Bartley's had to leave to do some important thing or whatever."
"But Cole Bartley's right over there."
"Other than him I guess. You know him better, you should ask him."
"Yeh."

I was still avoiding Bartley whether I wanted to know his family drama or not.

I was looking for Niah since the school day had finished, so I went to the dance studio she told me about. After getting lost about 3 times I finally found it. They were doing some sort of dancing cardio thing so I waited by the door.

"Heyyy!!" Niah came towards me as the class left,
"Heyy! Wait so you own the studio?"
"No I just do some classes."
"Ah."
"Anyways, did you speak to Bartley?"
"No. I wouldn't really say we're on speaking terms."
She scoffed, "when are you?"
"Well I'm avoiding him-he kissed me."
"He what?! How long for? And when??"
"Like 8 seconds and 2 days ago in the Library."
"Oh. My. God. I need details."
"Well I was just in there on my phone then he comes in being his annoying self then we have a very loud bicker and he just kissed me. I froze right there then when he stopped I just left, I'm too scared to talk to him."
"Wow. You didn't tell me?"
"I was trying to forget about it-but I can't."
"Damnn girl."

We laughed for a little,
"Anyways sorry but I gotta get going-I have an after school detention" she groaned and left the studio, I just sat in there on a bench by myself-it was quite depressing. I heard another class coming in so I left quickly, I was just looking around when my eyes met with Bartley. He ran over to me as I tried to avoid him yet again.

"Hey!" He shouted finally catching up with me on a staircase, "you're avoiding me."
"Yep." I huffed,
"Why?"
"You're just going to pretend nothing happened?"
"What happened?" He smirked teasingly,
"I'm serious Bartley. I don't want to go around kissing you whenever we're in a room together."
"I'm serious too. Nothing happened, right?"
"Right." I walked off heading to my dorm.

I saw a new girl on the bed next to me, but I wasn't planning on making friends with anyone here. I feel like I can't trust anyone. Time passed by so quickly-I didn't even know I had missed dinner.

In the morning I went down for breakfast since I was starving,

"Y/N!" Niah called, she had a tall boy stood next to her. He had dark curls sitting perfectly on hid head, a few strands in front of his face. He had light brown skin and blue eyes-he looked fairly similar to Zeniah actually.
"Hi!" I replied,
"This is my twin brother. Do you mind showing him around I have science and I'm failing."
I laughed, "sure."

"So you're new?" I asked him,
"Yeh, my parents sent me here to get a better education but looking at my sister I'm not sure the education systems that good."
"My parents sent me here because they were fed up of me and couldn't control me."
"Ah, that's nice." He laughed,
"What was your name again?"
"Liam Kingsley"
"Have you got your timetable?"
"Yep." He showed it to me,
"Oh, we're in the same maths. We actually have that now."
"Great, care to walk me there?" He joked,

We laughed a bit and talked on our way there. He was awkward at start but I like him, he's fun. We barged into the class, sh*t I didn't know we were late.

"Miss Averill, you cared to join us this time. Mr Kingsley, Let's hope you're better at math than your sister. Take a seat, now."
We both looked at each other in a sort of 'god this teachers crazy' way. We took a seat in the middle row, I didn't feel at all bad for leaving Bartley to sit by Isabella at the back. Of course Liam and I didn't listen to anything at all, just messed around all lesson.

Days passed and I got much closer to Liam, it was odd though. Niah, Liam and I were always together but they were siblings it was a little weird but they were both my best friends so I didn't really care. I couldn't sleep this night, something was just keeping me up. I went back to the secret garden, of course Bartley was there too.
