"What do you think of this one?" Jessica asked, twirling around in her hot pink prom dress. It was the tenth dress she had tried on, yet Evelyn tried to pull through. She hated this almost more than her biology homework.

Jessica and Angela had invited Evelyn to go dress shopping, even though they knew she wasn't going to prom. Evelyn agreed to go with them because she had heard there was a bookshop that had some books about magic, so she wanted to do her best to find it.

"It's perfect." Evelyn spoke, hoping that Jessica would just pick a dress already.

Four men knocked on the dress shop glass and winked at the three girls, making all of them extremely uncomfortable. Evelyn shuttered in disgust and Angela hid her face from the men. Jessica was too concerned on her dress to really pay much attention.

Evelyn knew the girls would take another hour or two looking at dresses, so she decided to head to the bookstore to search for the books. Angela and Jessica were a bit reluctant to let her go, but they quickly realized how stubborn Evelyn truly was and agreed to meet her at the restaurant later.

The journey to the bookstore was a bit longer than she had expected, but when she got there she was pleasantly surprised. The bookshop reminded her of one she might find in Diagon Alley, but a bit more American.

She found the books in a very quaint corner in the back, and found several interesting reads about magical creatures and found a vintage copy of Hogwarts: A History. She laughed and thought that after all these years, Hermione Granger could probably quote the whole book by now. She also found a book about urban legends and more specifically, vampires. Evelyn would need to do her research before she could confront Edward.

When she checked out, the man smiled at her. He obviously could tell she was a true witch. Evelyn smiled, as she handed the man her money and left. Port Angeles had become dark and cold, the clouds covering a majority of the sky.

The journey to the restaurant would be a long one, as she knew it was further than the dress shop. Evelyn sighed, wishing she could travel by broom or floo powder at the very least. Alas, she was left with walking.

After about a mile, she felt someone walking behind her. She could hear several footsteps behind her, and she decided to make a few turns to see if they were actually following her. Every turn she took, they took. She knew instantly that they were there to hurt her. Were they death eaters?

She walked until she made it to a desolate part of town, knowing there was nobody around, she stopped walking, and they did too. She slowly pulled out her wand and turned around.

"What is that you've got?"

"You're a cute one!"

"STUPEFY!" Evelyn shouted, blasting all four men back. They were stunned and would be for a while, so she decided to wipe their memory. She couldn't have four muggles knowing about magic.

"Obliviate." Evelyn spoke, watching as the white memory enters her wand. She jumps back at the sound of tires squeaking, putting her wand away and acting afraid.

"Evelyn? Are you alright?" Edward asks, looking at the four men lying on the ground. He noticed Evelyn was fine and did not look like she had tackled four grown men, but he blew that thought out of his mind.

"Y-yes." Evelyn spoke, getting into the car with Edward. Edward then began to drive Evelyn to the restaurant.

Edward seemed to be angry, his knuckles turned a violent shade of white as he gripped the wheel. Evelyn was a bit worried about him, but tried not to dive much deeper into it.

"I'm sorry I'm late-"

"Where were you? We left you messages!" Angela was concerned, as Evelyn had shown up nearly an hour late. Evelyn felt bad for not communicating, but she was a bit busy.

"I'm sorry I kept Evelyn from dinner. We just sort of ran into each other and got talking." Edward explained, coming up with the story on the spot. Evelyn took note on how easy it was for Edward to lie.

Angela and Jessica smiled at his story, seemingly excited for Evelyn. They quickly forgot about waiting for her and shoved the two inside. Edward laughed at the girls, but Evelyn rolled her eyes. Boys were the only thing those two thought about.

"I should make sure you get something to eat." Edward smiles, sitting down at a table inside. Evelyn liked the interior, the lights made the place look magical.

"Yeah, that sounds good." Evelyn smiled, sitting down at the table with Edward.

Edward didn't order anything but water, which Evelyn secretly understood but also made her aggravated. It was as if he wanted her to find out he wasn't human. He was making it far too easy for her.

"How did you know where I was tonight?" Evelyn asked, taking a bite of her ravioli.

"I didn't." He spoke, but Evelyn only rolled her eyes as she chewed her food.

"Did you follow me?" Evelyn then asked, putting her fork back on her plate in frustration. Edward leaned closer to her, to whisper in her ear almost.

"I feel very protective over you, Evelyn. I was trying to keep a distance unless you needed my help, and then I heard what those low-lives were thinking-" Edward explained, and Evelyn nodded. She remembered her eery feeling of being watched all night, but she had no idea it had anything to do with Edward.

"You heard what they were thinking?" Evelyn asked, catching on to what he had said. Evelyn nodded her head as he explained himself.

"I can read every mind in this room. Apart from yours." Edward spoke, then proceeding to read every mind in the room. Evelyn smiled, as she too read their minds with legillimency to make sure he wasn't lying. Evelyn knew he was telling the truth. Evelyn smiled, knowing that Edward was finally opening himself up to her.

"From you...I get nothing. It's very frustrating." Edward looked into Evelyn's eyes, and for a split second, Evelyn thought he was Cedric. Evelyn tore her eyes from him, shaking the thoughts from her head.

"I don't have the strength to stay away from you anymore." Edward spoke to her softly, holding her hand in his. Evelyn drew a quick breath in, in shock from the sudden touch.

She knew Edward wasn't Cedric, but even she had to admit she got butterflies whenever she saw him. Evelyn thought about her words before she said them.

"Then don't."
