Evelyn stood in the maze. Beads of sweat dripped down her forehead, as she held her wand tightly in her right hand. Evelyn took deep breaths as she looked down three long pathways.

Which one would she take?

"EVELYN!" She heard a familiar voice shout, "HELP ME PLEASE!" The voice got closer, as Evelyn realized it was Cedric's voice she had been hearing.

"CEDRIC? WHERE ARE YOU?" Evelyn ran, not knowing which direction she was even going. Her feet ran about as fast as her thoughts. She looked in every corner, making sure to not miss him. She followed his horrific screams as they began to get closer and closer.

"He's got me, Eve!" Evelyn looked to her left, seeing Cedric being attacked by a dark-hooded figure. Cedric was fighting, trying to defeat the man in the black hood. Evelyn grabbed her wand, but the hooded figure was faster.

"Avada kedavra!"

"NO! CEDRIC!" Evelyn screamed at the top of her lungs, as she shot up from her bed.

Evelyn looked around, seeing her darkened room around her. She sighed, laying back down as she recognized it as a nightmare. She had been no stranger to these dreams, as she had them almost every night after Cedric died. They were always different, but the ending never changed. They tormented her night by night, slowing tearing her happiness apart piece by small piece.

"Are you okay in here?" Nolan bursted through her room, looking around with his wand out.

"Yes, father." Evelyn spoke, brushing her hair out of her face, "I'm sorry for waking you up."

"Nonsense, Eve. I just wanted to make sure you were alright." Nolan smiled, before remembering what today was.

"What are you doing? You have that look on your face." Evelyn smiled, tying her hair into a ponytail. Evelyn watched her father carefully as he grabbed something from the hallway.

"I have a look?" Nolan asked, laughing playfully as his daughter nodded dramatically.

"Happy birthday, Evelyn!" Her father cheered, handing her a large package. She knew what it was just by the wrappings, it was a broom. What she didn't know was which one it was.

"Dad! Is this what I think it is?"

"A firebolt straight from Diagon Alley!" Nolan cheered, watching as his daughter jumped on her bed with joy. He laughed, happy to see her in such good spirits, he hoped to see her like the more often. She had been happier lately, with Edward around. Even though it worried him that he looked so similar to Cedric. He just wanted to see his daughter happy more than anything.

"Thank you so much!" Evelyn placed the broom on her bed carefully and lunged to hug her father. Nolan smiled and graciously held his daughter in his arms.

"Here we are." Edward speaks, as he places the car in park. They had made it to Forks High School.

"I can't believe I have to be here on my birthday." Evelyn rolls her eyes, looking at the Forks High School sign. Edward laughed as he looked at her expression. She didn't look mad, but she did look tired. He wondered what she had been up to the night before.

"You don't have to stay." Edward suggested, raising his eyebrow as he put his hand on the keys in the ignition. It was as if he was eager to leave, for that, Evelyn couldn't blame him.

"Yeah, I do. My father would hear about it." Evelyn spoke, getting her bag from the floorboard and then opening her car door.

"Wait," Edward stopped her, "I want to give you something." Edward smiled, as she closed her door.
