"This woman... This wavelength... W-w-witch l-lady Medusa?.."

"It's nice to meet you children." She says, calmly. "I've been looking forward to this."

"Maka. Soul. Last night you had a little argument, didn't you? Over who it was that burn the curry."

"How could you possibly know that?" Maka asks.

"It was Soul. He forgot to turn the burner off and scorched your dinner." She says with such calmness, it seems as if whatever she did to come about this information was completely normal. "The two of you aren't my only entertainment though. I've been watching everything that's gone on throughout the world. For eight centuries. Through the eyes of my dear spiders."

"As well as you, legendary meister/weapon team, Y/N and Brian." At this she smiles a bit. "You too, Crona. The child of Medusa. My little sister." Crona starts to panic even more. Arachne's smile grows. "How delightful. Medusa didn't love you one little bit, did she? Well, it's not too late, I can give you my love."

I can see Crona being pushed to his breaking point, as his fist tightens around Ragnarok, his jaw clenched. Arachne uses her hand to cover her mouth as she laughs at him. "Oh, how delightful."

Crona finally snaps.

Crona screams as he charges for Arachne, aiming to give her a clean slice from her shoulder. Crona's efforts, however, are fruitless as Arachne only uses her fan to stop his attack completely.

"A close call." She says. "But I guess I have aged a bit in these last eight hundred years."

In one swift motion, she swats Crona's sword away from her, finishing it off with a hard slap in the face from her fan.

"I'm no longer delighted. Exterminate the brat, Giriko." Giriko kicks Crona in the stomach, sending him flying.

'It happened so fast, I had a hard time seeing!'

Crona lands on his feet, but just barely. Crona charges again, except this time, he stops abruptly, and I finally notice the gash Giriko must've given him. His black blood hardens, preventing anymore bleeding.

"No way! He broke through the black blood with just one kick!?" As Soul says this, I realize I've just been standing around.

Rushing toward Giriko, I raise Brian over my shoulder. I stop once I remember that if I storm over there, I'll end up like Crona, except worse. I send quick rushes of Acid Wind instead. The long forgotten Golem steps in front of the two. My Acid Wind is supposed to be strong enough to overpower fresh magma, yet it only burns patches in the Golem's over-alls, doing nothing at all to the Golem itself.

Giriko crouches into a squat, and uses his chains to veer around the Golem and speed towards me. I block a kick aimed for my face and swing my scythe at him. I give him a small scratch on his arm. I adjust my scythe so that Giriko's stuck in the heel, preparing to deliver another attack.

I sense another soul fast approaching behind me, but it isn't Crona.

Using the position I have Giriko in at the moment, someone slams their arm, with a guillotine atop, into Giriko's back. The force of the impact breaks my position and I have to let go of malicious man, sending him back to his original place.
