A/N: When I say "mini-clock", it's one of those small analogue clocks on a chain, that old people have. LOL, I don't know what they're called.

The magic tool, Brew, is located on an island, north of Alaska, known as lost island. This island was previously owned to a magic tool facility, created, and operated by witches. However, an accident occurred. This caused a great explosion, and the facility was destroyed.

That same accident created a strong magnetic field in the center of the island. The magnetism is so powerful, that the entire area remains inaccessible. This is where the tool, known as Brew, or the Tempest, is located. There are serious consequences for anyone who stays inside the field for too long. Fortunately, this difficulty applies to our enemies, too. The longest anybody may safely remain in the magnetic field is twenty minutes.

'That's what I've been told, at least.' I close my eyes, sighing softly. 'Man, what a drag.. Not only will we be fighting Arachnophobia for possession of Brew, but we'll be fighting against time, as well.'

The boat we're on roughly sways in the current.

She's probably more that just a little nervous, but very contradicting to her emotions, in a level voice, Marie says, "As you know, our mission here is to acquire the magic tool, Brew. You were briefed on the battle plan a few days ago. Does everyone remember?"

"We do." I say. Looking over in Black Star's direction, to my left, just beside me, he looks completely lost.

"You half-wit.." I face palm. "You forgot, didn't you? Scratch that, you probably weren't paying attention at all."

"Listen well, I'm explaining." I turn to look at him. "While Sid's squad moves to face off against Arachnophobia, we'll be going over to the center of the island - the magnetic field. However, only Marie and Stein will actually go inside the field itself. Whereas the rest of us, won't set foot into the field. We'll be outside, awaiting their return -- and possibly be fighting against troops that come our way."

"That's right." Stein says, smiling slightly. "Now, this may be the biggest battle you've seen, but remember, you were chosen because you're the elite among all lower level meisters. Fight well, don't prove our choice wrong."

~

"It's a big one, alright." Black Star voices his observations of the magnetic field.

"Marie and I are the only ones continuing on from here. Remember the instructions I gave you earlier, stay put until we get back." Stein walks over to Ox's object of obsession. "Listen Kim, we should be back here in twenty minutes. If not, use Jacqueline to send a signal to the rest of the academy troops. Then follow the tracks left by Sid's troop, meet up with the other troops, and get off this island."

"But, Professor, what will happen to you and Marie if your left behind?" Maka asks. "Arachnophobia will be in there, too. Shouldn't we go in with you? You guys might need our help."

"More people only means a bigger battle." I say. "The bigger the battle, the longer the fight lasts. If the battle goes on for too long, both sides will be lost inside the magnetic field."

"I would've thought the situation was fairly obvious," Ox says, "certainly to a student at the top of her class, anyway."

"No need to be worried about them." I look towards Maka. "If Marie and Stein are in there together, the two of them should be back in five minutes, or less."

Nodding at my statement, the two professors start walking to the field. Just before entering, Marie sends us a thumbs up, "Wish us luck, everybody!"

A few minutes after entering the field, I'm surprised to notice that I can still clearly sense their souls, even through all the static.

Noticing me wringing my hands in an attempt to warm my hands up, Kim brings her weapon partner up in front of my face. Somehow making silent communication through eye contact, I realize that she's telling me to warm up.

As I do so, the others join in. Kim sighs in exasperation, "I should start charging for this."

"Is that a chocolate bar!?" Black Star's eyes lit up. "Kilik, be a pal, and share some of it."

"Sorry, there's only enough for me."

'The little liar.' Once Black Star notices the rest of them, he starts to brawl with Kilik.

"How long has it been now? Like (F/N) said, they shouldn't be gone longer than five minutes?"

Kid checks his gold colored mini-clock. "They still have fifteen more minutes to go."

In the middle of stretching my arms, I stop once I notice something different.

"What's wrong?" Kid asks me, taking note of my distress.

"Their souls... Their gone.."
