Nina's POV

I woke up in a bed. I sat up and looked around. "Jake??? Els???" I called. The door opened. "Nina darling you're awake, I was so worried" a man said as he hugged me. After he pulled away I looked at him. "Who are you and where is Jake and Els?" I asked. "I'm your father and your brother and sister are in the kitchen eating breakfast you three are acting a bit strange are you okay?" he asked.

"Father?" was all I could get out. I don't remember anything except Jake and Elsabe who I call Els for short. "Yes my darling, I think you may have hit your head hard like Jake and Elsabe yesterday when you suddenly shot ice out of your hands and Elsabe suddenly shot fire out of her hands and Jake started a small tornado and you all fell down, but we can talk about it later you're going to be late for school" my dad said.

I have a pair of black leggings on with a dark blue, oversized hoodie on and got my black High Tops on. I got my backpack and walked down stairs. "Morning Nina" Jake smiled. "Morning you two" I smiled as I grabbed a granola bar and a bottle of water. "Well I'm sorry to bother your breakfast but if we don't get you three to school now you'll be late for the first day" dad said as he walked into the kitchen.

We all went to the car and got in. Dad started to drive towards the school. "I'll pick you up after school then I want you to meet someone okay" dad said as we got out of the car. "Okay dad bye" we said before walking into the school. We walked in and walked straight to the office, not without some eye contact with people and a few whispers.

"I don't like this" I whispered to Jake. "I know but they will stop at some point" he whispered back. We walk by 2 boys before we entered the office. They were looking at us and whispering. I looked down at a attempt to not make eye contact. We got our class scheduled and our lockers codes.

"Nina let me see you're class schedule" Jake said. I gave it to him. "Okay we all have 1 class together and it's Math but no other class" Jake said as he handed it back to me. "Please tell me our lockers are next to each other or near each other" I said in a begging voice. He looked at me and smiled before nodding.

We got our books and the principle took us to our first class. Unfortunately I had science. Lucky me. We walked into the class and the principal called the teacher out just to say I'm new. The teacher and I walked in. "Class this is Nina Cage, she will be joining us from today on, you can sit next to..." she stopped and looked at the classroom. Most of the students had their hands up. "Put your hands down I wasn't asking if you wanted her to sit down next to you" she said before looking at 2 boys.

"Miss Cage you can sit next to Mr Leeds" she said pointing to a boy who was raising his hand. I nodded and walked to him and sat down between him and the window. I looked at him and the guy next to him and remembered they were the two boys that I saw before we entered the office that I didn't want to make eye contact with.

I got a book out and started drawing some trees and start drawing Jake. Who knew I could draw. I was halfway done with the drawing of Jake when the bell rang I got my stuff and wanted to walk out when the teacher stopped me. "Miss Cage I hope you paid attention because I want you to show me the homework tomorrow so I can see what you need help with" I just nodded.

I walked to my locker and started to try remember what homework. "Nina right" I heard behind me startling me a bit. I turned around and saw the guy who sat next to me. "Yeah Mr Leeds?" I said putting my books in my backpack. "I'm Ned nice to meet you" he smiled holding out his hand. I shook his hand. "Nice to meet you too" I said. "Oh yeah here you go" Ned said handing me a piece of paper. "What's this?" I asked.

"It's the homework, I saw you drawing and thought you might want to homework since you weren't really paying attention in class" he said. I took the piece of paper and thanked him. He showed me where my English class was and said he also had it. I sat next to him again in all the classes we had together which was all of them so far.

The bell rang and it was time for lunch. I walked to my locker and waited for Jake and Els. After what felt like forever they still haven't shown up. I sat down and started drawing again until two girls stood in front of me. "Look a loser with no friends" the middle one said. I ignored them and kept on drawing until they started kicking me.

'Great. Just. Fucking. Great' I thought as I laid there doing nothing. The bell finally rang and they walked away. I got up and fell back down. "Omg Nina are you okay?" I heard a guy voice asked. I looked up and saw it was Ned. I gave him a weak smile and a nod. He helped me up and took me to the school nurse. I tried to tell him that I had to go to Math but he said that he was going to head there and tell the teacher I'm here and that I should sit with him and his friend.

I agreed and with that he left. The nurse did a check up and told me that I would have to lay down for the last two classes and that she would tell Ned to tell the teachers that I was here and so he can give me the homework that I need to do. I agreed and lay down.
