Chapter 6. The friends on the battlefield

Her eyes watched as Talek breathed. He turned towards her and smiled. "Don't worry Sial, we'll save Rakar, and Ravek" He said, smiling at her. She smiled back and shifted her dragonblade so it would be easier to pull out. Talek had known about Sial's love for Rakar since they first met, yet he noticed that Rakar had the love for someone else, and although she knew he didn't love her like that, she still kept a piece of her love for him. She looked towards the girl that Rakar did have a love for. Saiterina, the angel with pink hair that fell towards her back, and draped around her cranberry eyes like curtains.

Sial admired her. She was strong; she could control the different powers of arches easily, while still handling her own weapons. She had heard that she would soon be transferred to a higher order. While still watching her, she caught the attention of one of the other arches, an older boy, with purple hair, one that blended in so well, probably because he was lowered from the power's rank. He had eyes like a tiger's, emerald green, though his skin was almost like glass, see-through. He was armed with 2 easy throwing daggers: one having the essence of the sun, and the other having the essence of the moon. His hair fell along with his temples, and there were 2 tattoos on his face. One below his left eye was the sun and above his right was the moon in crescent form. He never knew why he had the tattoos. Because he was a kirath, he used the moon, and sun as energy sources for different abilities, and skills.

He breathed, and felt his sides, making sure his weapons were there. Time seemed to go on forever as they each went down.

'Here we go, I was made for this, I am Senith, the vice-captain of the powers' he thought, not forgetting his rank, in doing so, started falling behind.

The captain, Talek, saw his friend had some trouble.

"Everyone go ahead, Saiterina, lead ahead," He said, then let his wings come out, causing him to decelerate, leaving Saiterina to lead.

she nodded, her pink hair staying where it was supposed to be. She was the vice, the second-ranking below the captain of the arches, and soon, she would be moved up to the power's rank. Talek fell back towards the 4th row, where Senith was.

He stopped side by side, looking over at him.

"Hey, you ok?" Talek asked, his wings flapping at the same pace as his. He didn't want to leave Senith behind, after all, he was his friend. Senith flapped at the same pace.

Senith looked towards him. "Not really,"

Although the others were ahead of them, Talek wasn't worried; he was more worried about Senith.

"Come on, tell me. What's wrong?" He asked, trying to figure out why his friend was so stressed. He knew that he was critically hurt when he was demoted, which was why Talek had brought him as the 3rd seat, next to Rakar, who was 2nd seat. Talek although, wanted to make Senith the 2nd seat, was also bound as a captain to make the skills match the rank, to which Rakar proved to be worth the 2nd seat, but that could change.

Senith turned towards Talek. "Just remembering the impact that I had to take when I was demoted, I had never been demoted in my life, nor my afterlife." He told him.

Talek nodded, understanding. "I see..." He said. "Not only that," He continued.

"But now I have to participate in a war? After I was demoted, I thought I would be able to get my rank back. Before I had to go to war, it isn't an easy thing to take, demons go after the weak, remember the stories of the devils past Sakya was weak, that's why she was captured, and..." He let it hang, though the stories were fresh in everyone's mind. In the last war,

Sakya had been raped by the devils, and then she was thrown into the cold flames, a ritual that was needed to completely give the evil light to the female that now lies before them, a satanic ritual

Talek nodded. "I know, but remember, you aren't the only one who's going to be out fighting. I'll be by your side, not only that but perhaps this battle might not even last," He said. "But if it does, I will be by your side, you and I have a connection, a bond between two very similar creatures....remember that," He said.

Senith felt the warmth in his voice and nodded, it was when he talked about their primal bond, that he believed anything he said. "Now, let's get out there, and show these demons what happens when you mess with celestials" He urged. Senith nodded, "Yea, let's go"

He said, hope uplifting his wings. He let his wings go back into his back, and he fell faster, towards the group. Senith got right up near Talek, and Saiterina; his place of the rank.
