Chapter 11. Onyx's denial
Onyx's eyes burned with the fire of fury. He wasn't going to let his victory be spoiled.
Drawing his arm back, he swiped forward, the cold wind scorching, like the flame of a chimera. Rakar's breathing came rapidly, as he wasn't armed.
Sial gripped her sword. "Dragonflame, the burning hell beckons you, show them the inspiration of war that you bring as you spread your wings, Scale, scorching flap!!" She chanted, wings showing from the side of the blade. She swung her sword forward, just as the time that the wings came together on his arm, causing flames to spurt out of the sword's wings. Kalzure growled as he was thrown back in a large breeze of fire.
Onyx growled and found that his skin was on fire. Sial breathed, her energy low.
Onyx smirked, as the fire slowly began to lower. "Rakar, you have guts, striking me, and showing no fear throughout this whole altercation alone. I'll give you this offer, become my third, Evak needs skills as fine as yours, become my other guard, and I will treat you better than you are here," He said, his eyes entrancing.
Rakar looked into his eyes, finding what he could do for all, what he could accomplish.
Sial stayed at his back. "Rakar, are you actually thinking about this? What about Saiterina? What are you going to do, don't do it, you're an angel, not a demon,"
Onyx laughed at her. "Ravek was one of my guards before, I gave him power and wealth, I gave him gifts that controlled creatures that would be his own brothers, I could do the same for you," He said.
Rakar thought about it, then his mind went back to something that Ravek once said.
"Creatures, demons, they trick, I was indeed one of them, but I was not one that I chose to be.." Rakar thought this and gripped his sword. "I will never join you, my elders are who I guard, and my friends," He said, leaping and striking at him, the fire instantly back.
Onyx's body burned brightly, and with a large growl, began to slowly turn transparent like the wind as it breathed back, and forth. Rakar gripped Savior, and leaped, striking the area in between his real body, and his slow sucking self as he was imploding.
Onyx turned towards him. "Then feel the curse that I put upon you," He said, a marking showing on his forehead as he slashed against Rakar's left eye, before imploding into a hole that pulled everyone else into it as well: They had won.
Rakar coughed up blood and put his hand onto his eye as blue blood traveled down it.
His eye had been slashed, but his eye was closed. His hair blew in the wind, revealing his other eye. "God damn him," He said, turning towards Talek, dead.
"He will pay for this,"Ravek growled.
Senith looked down at Talek, feeling the connection stay. He had lost the closest friend that he had ever had.
Ravek walked up to him, his aura telling everything.
"I'm sorry, you have the right to be upset with me, Senith, if not for us, he would still be around," He said. Senith looked at the ground, a tear coming down his eyes. "I have no reason to blame you, nor do feel negative feelings towards you, Talek gave his life in battle. He saved your brother, and he did it with his sword raised, without regret. He knew what might happen, and he stuck with it. We shed tears, not because we lost them, but because of what we regret if they regret, we cry because of the chances they lose." He said. He turned towards Ravek, and patted him on the shoulder. "but there is no regret today, just a bad memory, and a glimpse of what is to come." He said. He slid his swords into his side sheaths. Ziox nodded. "well-said arch officer, Senith. Celestials, this is a warning. Now that Kalzure has become reincarnated, we must stay on our guard, yet again. Tonight, we will continue shifts. But for now, let us celebrate, for we have come out of it victorious" Ravek nodded. "Tonight, we will host a party. All angels are invited" He said. The angels cheered, and each one took off. ziox looked at Ravek. "Should I notify The elders?" She asked. Ravek nodded. "indeed lieutenant. I'll come by later" He said. She nodded, twirling her whips together, and sheathing them.
Ravek then turned and walked over to Rakar, his injured brother. His blood-red eyes locking onto him. The place was quiet again, and the sun was beginning to hit the horizontal line. Rakar's shadow made him look crippled. Rakar still had his hand on his eye, making it look like he couldn't see, but though his hair covered his other eye, he could see through it at Ravek. Rakar's wings were still out, an absent reaction. Ravek stopped a few inches from him. Ravek breathed. "You made me proud today, going after me instead of fighting the tyrant, you saved my life today, and you fought bravely good job brother," He said. Rakar smiled, but winced at the injury. "can you see ?" Ravek asked. Rakar nodded. "My eye wasn't hit because I blinked." Ravek put his hand around his arm.
"Need some help?" He asked.
Rakar shook his head.
"I think I can fly," He said. "how about you?" He asked.
"Yea, I can, but it's gonna be a pain"
Rakar ripped off some of his pant leg and tied it around his eye. It was a little transparent, so he could see ok. He leaped into the air with Ravek by his side, and they took off towards the castle.
Along the way, Rakar saw the light of Onyx's's demeaning yellow eyes shining at him from within the eyes of the stray demons that they killed.
They both entered through the back entrance. The door is beginning to close.
