chapter 12. Saiterina's one way trip.

The party was set up exactly at a certain time, 10:00, but Rakar didn't really feel like partying, he was way wiped, and he had a slash on his eye that hurt badly, and he had lost his captain. At the moment, he was in the kitchen, getting some holy water, it cured some of the knots in his stomach, but he still tasted blood. His arm was still pretty beat up, but he would live. He breathed, finding that he was the only one.

Then, as if he thought he was alone, something came up from behind, watching him with eager eyes.

Rakar turned, feeling the aura of someone. "Who's there?" He called. The kitchen was huge. He drew Savior, and readied himself. From behind came the attack, as he was suddenly being hung by someone behind him. "Boo!!" Said the voice of Koros, Rakar's friend as he gave himself a piggyback on Rakar's back.

"Ugh, Koros what are you doing, get off" He growled.

Koros grinned. "Not until you lighten up, you've already been through a lot today, put Savior away, and come dance upstairs," He said, leaping off him, and landing on his feet, his petite body making him nimble and hard to catch. He moved his long green hair out of his eyes and picked up a group of sodas, and alcoholic beverages, then vanished in a ray of light. Rakar shrugged, then leaped into the air, his wings coming out as he flew up the long hole in the spiral stairs.

The space quickly closed up. It looked like he was going through another dimension, from normal life to party life. He landed inside the area where Sial, and Talek sparred, only it didn't seem like that way, now it had streamers just hanging everywhere, speakers near every door and light balls were shooting rainbow light all over the place.

Rakar was already used to the light by the time that he walked up the stairs.

He smiled at his brother, and at Saiterina. He didn't know why but the instant that he laid his eyes on her, she felt his own pain go away.

Koros breathed, high in the air dancing, a soda in his hand. Rakar didn't get to see what type it was, but it was probably Dr.pepper, or cherry coke, or something.

Although the party was jumping, there was a particularly dark feeling spreading around, lethal and silent, like the shadows on the walls. Some people were dancing and having fun, but it wasn't that lively to Rakar.

Ravek was breathing silently, watching down from upon the stairs.

Sial was pouring herself a drink. Senith was not easy to spot, mainly because he was huddled near the fire that cast shadows around.

Nothing could really let the memories of Talek go. Caxzin was looking for his older sister Ziox, who also was nowhere to be found.

Rakar walked through the hall of the "party" if you could call mourning in alcohol a party. He still had the patch around his eye and every time that he moved, it hurt like a bitch. Rakar winced every time he felt his slash burn. The emptiness felt horrible. Although the party was really jumping, The depressing feeling wouldn't leave.

Koros was still dancing and drinking, having fun, and such. He smiled down at Rakar, his feminine appearance glowing in the light.

Rakar nodded, went back to hanging his head.

He breathed, and walked over to the fire, coming up from behind Senith.

"I'm sorry," He said, knowing the sadness of losing someone so dear. Rakar's mother was killed in battle, and his father became a saithor. Senith looked behind, his eyes shadowed by the fire. It looked like he was going to explode at Rakar with anger but then smiled. "Don't be, Talek died in battle, something he always wanted. He told me "If ever I leave this afterworld, I want it to be holding my double spear, for the ends stand for courage, and valor" Although I am upset that he's gone, I will not fuss, for one day, I will join him. We party, not for victory, but to celebrate the lives of those we care for, and to show them that although they are gone, that they still leave an impression on us" Rakar listened intently, looking down at the fire, but what he felt wasn't the heat of the fire, but the warmth of his own heart. Senith smiled. "But enough about that, I will become the captain of the arch team now, I will make Talek proud that he gave his life, and when I go back to being a power, YOU will take my place," He said, putting his hand on Rakar's shoulder. He nodded, and took Senith's words at heart, but still felt the loss. Senith went close to him.

"Don't look now, but I think there's someone who's waiting for you," He said. He heard the small messages from over there, they were like small insinuating messages like a cupid. Turning around, he saw Saiterina smiling at him.

Rakar looked at her, then looked back down. Realizing that what Seniths words were true, he turned towards Saiterina, a gleam in his eyes as he started towards her, gripping her by the hand. "Hey, miss me?" he asked her, a gleam in his eyes as the mood went from mellow to a high pitch. Rakar gripped her by the arm, and swung towards her, landing a kiss on her lips as he passed her. Moving on her lead, Rakar was beginning to lose himself in the mood of the music.

Sainterina looked like she was having fun too, but at the same time, she looked like she was hyperventilating. Rakar's eyes gleamed more, and more as they both swung each other from side to side, back, and forth, almost like bolts of electricity crackling between them the atoms fizzing together and exploding with a boom that was the end of the song. Sial was with Koros, drinking and talking. Everyone was having fun now and Ravek was watching. Zen, one of the other cherubs, was watching Sial, and Koros. Zen had a connection with Sial since day one. He even had the same weapons, only they were a bit different. A crossbow, and a snake sword. The blade though, instead of fire coming out, was lightning. Zen wasn't the strongest, but he was the fastest. His brother Thork was the strongest. He and Ravek were considered rivals for the lead of the seraphim. Zen hated Rakar, not just because he was Ravek's brother, but because he was connected with Koros, his friend, and his teammate.

Although he hated Rakar, he had to admit that he was a good dancer.

Rakar smiled at Saiterina, who returned it. She laid her cranberry eyes on him, and he felt her beauty strike him, and his feelings for her have unlocked the instant that she smiled at him. Although he had fallen in love, he felt a chill go up to his spine; He felt her temperature fall, but her expression stayed, and her color paled turning milky white. She slowly lost the feeling in her legs, and collapsed backward, her legs buckling as the party continued to play. Time seemed to stop as Rakar watched Saiterina fall on her side. Rakar heard her heart beat faster, and louder than usual, and because of it, Rakar could hear it beat quieter, and quieter until finally, it ceased altogether, She no longer breathed, she no longer breathed, and she no longer moved as everything in her line of vision went blank:Saiterina was no longer conscious. Koros was the first to catch on. He ran over to him as Rakar was beginning to heal her with white magic, trying desperately to get her heart back to normal. "What happened?" Koros asked urgently. Rakar shrugged, having no clue how it could have happened. "I swear I didn't do a single thing, we were dancing and suddenly, she collapsed.

Koros shot a mental message to every seraph. He looked up to Ravek, and he vanished. The min. people began noticing, The party was over. Rakar was beginning to cry, tears fell from his eyes, as he called to her. Rakar felt a sharp stab, a jolt in his heart, a chest pain that wouldn't dull, he felt vile build up in his throat as Ziox, Ravek, and some of the other seraphs came. Ziox pulled open her vest, revealing her bare chest. "we need herbs, and spices NOW, where is Tokano, I called for them 30 seconds ago" She growled. Ravek looked up at her.

"We have to work rapidly, whatever it is, it should get worked on fast" Ravek said,

pouring energy into her center where her left breast was. Energy poured into her,

Ziox went over to her center and monitored it through her other breast.

"She's not breathing, and her aura is beginning to wane," She said.

Rakar watched His brother, and Ziox works on Saiterina.

Tokano came flying down with a bottle, and a box. "Here ya go," she said, beginning to paint.

Ziox glared at her, and opened her mouth, moving her head down, lips meeting each other she breathed into her and kept her mouth open while she poured some of the contents into her mouth. Her heart was beginning to rapidly go from none to little, then none again. "we lost her" He said. Ziox hung her head low. 2 angels gone in one day. The others looked down. Finding the strength to cry meant that they failed their bodies, but not their hearts. Rakar, however, couldn't cry, because he didn't even have the emotional support to shed tears. Before Her lifeless eyes close completely, like her pulse, Rakar swore he saw into her soul, a mythic trip down her past. Rakar saw a drip of a tear fall from her eyes. He could see the love she had for him. Rakar had shed blood from war, and he felt no emotion for death, but because in the death of demons nothing could stop their sins, not even death hens their immortality. Not until fate slammed him with this great loss that he found out that death finds a way through. No matter how powerful, or how immortal; death comes to those who have been called to die by the reapers.
