"Hello and welcome to the BBC News at six. I'm Marley Rose, and earlier today the name of Chandler Kiehl's suspected murderer was released. Blaine Anderson, who was out on bail, is being prosecuted on Monday. The judge is expecting it to be a short trial, as it has currently been an open and shut case. The suspects ex partner is to be talking the stand. We are currently waiting on more information that will be released early next week regarding the Chandler Kiehl case."
The dirty blonde boy slouching on the sofa, relaxed more into his boyfriend's arms, as though he craved comfort and the other man's touch. Or someone's touch at least, currently he wasn't sure of anything. Once the bulletin was over, he swiftly moved forward to change channels to 'Johnny English Returns'.
The boy behind let out a sharp sigh before speaking.
"I can't believe that guy would do that to an innocent man," the boy on top tensed as those words came out of the others mouth. "His ex probably has the best shot at putting him away for life. I wonder why they didn't release there name as well."
"They probably didn't want the weight on their shoulders Zac. God, it must be so hard for them okay, just give it a rest. I swear it's like you're obsessed with this stupid goddamn case." He took a second to breathe, before continuing. "Can we talk about something else?" The boys voice trembled, but Zac didn't notice, he never notices.
"Okay Kurtie, I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it Zac. I'll start cooking tea, okay?" Kurt smiled sadly before walking out of the blandly decorated room.
Flashback
"I can't do this, I need to forget I ever met him Quinn."
"But you can't, can you?"
Kurt let out a heavy sigh, "And that isn't going to stop me from trying. Actually I'm going on a date tonight with a really nice guy I met online, he's called Zac."
"Are you sure your ready, I mean it's barely been a week since he was arrested."
Deep down somewhere, Kurt knew she was right, but didn't want or couldn't believe it.
"Well, if you're trying to move on, Rachel and I are moving in, we don't really have anywhere else to go and I can't bare to think of you being alone in such a huge house."
"Quinn, honestly, I'm fine. I mean I have Finn to distract me."
"And what about when you have to go into court and see his face again?"
Kurt eventually agreed after some persuasion. However much he wanted to run away from everyone and everything, they were currently his only sense of stability other than his brother. Even then Finn didn't know much about what went on at the lodge, nevermind that night, other than occasional phone calls he received from a sobbing Kurt and updates on the news, that never seemed as accurate or reasonable as Kurt would have liked.
It was slowly destroying Kurt day by day, knowing that the man who supposedly loved him and he loved back would do such a thing. He hated him for it, despised him in fact. They were all drunk that night so no one's alibi was as strong and persuasive as they would have liked.
All Kurt knew was that he left at some point, and headed towards the woods. He was gone for at least half an hour. And now potentially gone forever. Never coming back into the warmth and safety of Kurt's arms.
Little did Kurt know, in two short months he'd be fighting to save him.
End of Flashback
Today was the day the group were originally supposed to leave the lodge, but there holiday was cut short by two months after Blaine's arrest.
Nick and Jeff went back New York where they study at NYU, Sebastian and Hunter were still in Lima, trying there best to support Kurt and Blaine, whilst Rachel and Quinn moved in with Kurt and his family. The tension between Finn and Quinn was strong at first, but quickly blossomed into friendship and support for one another. They both knew that Quinn and Rachel were endgame, no matter how much Finn's heart ached for her, all he wanted was for her to be happy.
Meanwhile, Burt and Carole were travelling in Europe and wouldn't be back until well after the trial. They wanted to come back, but Finn and Kurt were able to reassure them that everything was going to be alright and they should enjoy their holiday.
Besides, Kurt knew he couldn't confront them right now. He knew he'd crumble as soon as he saw them, and he hated that side of himself.
He had made a rule to himself: never cry infront of anyone. No matter how hard it was, and he lived up to it.
There were too many emotions for him to cope with, he had know clue how to feel towards the man who saved him from his torturer of years.
And yet he had some sort of power over Kurt, forcing him to love the supposed criminal in question.
