Splendid could've slammed you against that door and proclaimed his undying love for you in that moment before showing you what was really down there, but he decided against it. Thankfully, he had some rationality left.

He quickly got up and said, "Whoa! Don't go in there. That's the basement and it's really gross in there! Lots of, uhhh, bugs down there...!"

Was that convincing? He didn't think it was. Neither did you.

"Ahaha, I see," you teased with a suggestive grin. "If there's something in there you don't want me to see, then I understand," you said and walked away from the door. He raised a brow, still somewhat wary. This was coming from the same woman who punted Lifty's ass across town for stealing a mere bag of potato chips. Point being, you've always been someone slightly brash and impulsive, and you've never been known for being understanding.

When Splendid looked visibly relieved that you backed down, it made you wonder what was really down there.

Splendid needed to take your mind off of it, so he leaped over the couch and grabbed your hand to show you around the other less incriminating parts of his house. He made a mental note to put a lock on that basement door, though. When the two of you got to his bedroom, you noticed not a single thing had changed. You laughed and flopped onto his bed with grace that he had no idea you possessed. The blood rushed up to his face so fast, he feared he was going to pass out.

You were lying on his bed.

Oh, God. This was going to keep him up tonight. He tried to fight down the blush that covered his face and avoided looking into your eyes.

"Ahh, I loved this mattress! I remember when I stayed over that one time. I slept 15 hours straight on this!" you exclaimed, rolling around in its comfort. He scoffed at your remark.

"Yeah, I remember. You made me sleep on the floor," he grumbled, crossing his arms.

You grinned and placed your hands behind your head as you lied down again. "So how come you didn't change your room? You did say that you've become a new person and all, right?" you asked, looking his way.

"Well, there's a tiny part of me that still hasn't changed."

"And which part would that be?"

'The part that always loved you.'

He stayed silent.

"You honestly don't seem to have changed too much, besides the fact that you're less clumsy and look better." you said thoughtfully. He openly smirked at your compliment. That boosted his ego, which was already pretty inflated as it was.

"Thanks, but that's for me to know and you to find out~ Anyway, I think I should take you home. I better go look for Fliqpy to make sure he's not killing anyone," he explained, pretending to play his part as the town's hero. Splendid was itching to murder that guy and he really couldn't wait anymore. Sure, he wanted to spend time with you but you looked really drained after today's events.

"Huh? Oh, Fliqpy's probably back to normal by now, but some of the others might be hurt. Anyway, you don't have to drop me at my place. I can just walk—"

"No way, you're exhausted," he interrupted sternly. "I'll fly you home just in case Flippy hasn't gone back to normal yet. Besides, it'll only take me two seconds to fly you there, you know?" he suggested with a smile. Well, it wasn't really a suggestion. He clearly wasn't going to take 'no' for an answer.

You sighed, smiling sheepishly. "Thanks, Splendid. Now I owe you again. Are you still thinking about how I can repay you for all you've done for me?" you asked, though you probably shouldn't have.
