The sheriff then made the three leave town by literally tailing the impala out of town.
Dean, Jade, and Oliver then wait until it gets dark to drive back and they go straight to the apple orchard.
Once they got there they made it just in time to find the couple from earlier running away from the scarecrow.
After finding out that rock salt shells did bullshit to the thing they all came to the agreement that it's not a spirit.
Oliver and Jade decided to call Sam to see if he could help.
"The scarecrow climbed off its cross?"Sam asks.
"Hey, I'm telling you Burkittsville Indiana fun town." Oliver replies having Sam on speaker while Dean drives.
Both he and Jade are sitting in front this time. Jade's squished in the middle.
"It didn't kill the couple did it?" Sam asks.
"No. We can cope without you you know." Dean says.
"So something must be animating it a spirit." Sam says ignore Dean's comment.
"No, it's more than spirit. It's a god. Well a Pagan god anyway." Jade corrects him.
"What makes you say that?"Sam asks.
"The annual cycle of its killings and the fact that the victims are always a man and a woman like some kind of fertility rite." Jade explains.
"And you should see the locals the way they treated this couple fattening them up like a Christmas turkey." Dean adds in.
"The last meal is given to sacrificial victims."Sam says.
"Yeah, we're thinking of a ritual sacrifice to appease some pagan god." Oliver says.
"So a god possesses a scarecrow-" the scarecrow takes its sacrifice and for another year the crops won't wilt and disease won't spread." Oliver finishes Sam's sentence.
"You know which god your dealings with?" Sam asks.
"Nope, not yet." Dean replies.
"Well, you figure out what it is you can figure out a way to kill it."Sam says.
"Yeah, we know. We're on our way to a local community college. I got an appointment with a professor. You know since we don't have our trusty sidekick geek boy to do all the research with Oliver. Jade's too lazy to look through dozens of Pagan lore." Dean says.
"You know if you're hinting you need my help just ask." Sam says.
"I'm not hinting at anything." Dean says.
Both twins hit him in the arm and Dean mouths ow and sighs before speaking again.
Both Jade and Oliver give him a look that says "just say it already you stubborn asshole."
"Actually Uh I want you to know I mean don't think- Oliver rolled his eyes wanting to scream the word for him since he was being a bitch.
"Yeah, I'm sorry too."Sam finally says.
Jade and Oliver then both share a look and shrug.
"Sam you were right. You got to do your own thing. You got to live your own life." Dean says.
"You serious?"Sam says.
Jade and Oliver stare at Dean in complete shock that Dean was actually apologizing. Instead of his usual half-ass apologies.
"You've always known what you want and you go after it. You stand up to dad. I mean you always have. Hell, I wish I" Dean cut himself off.
"Anyway, I admire that about you. I'm proud of you Sammy." Dean says not willing to finish his other sentence.
