12. Highway

As I'm relaxing outside listening to the soothing sound of the rain I hear some footsteps from inside the door. I turned to look inside and I feintly see someone. It's one of the girls, I can tell by their silhouette but she is wearing a really oversized hoodie, using the hood to mostly cover her face.

There's only one person this could be and honestly just thinking about confronting her makes me angry. I cannot believe I trusted her to the point of calling her my sister.

She grabbed something and started walking away towards the room.

I wanted to shout at her. I wanted to lash out right then and there, yet I couldn't.

She looked so drained, lacking energy, so weak. She was always looking down.

Instantly I was hit with all the memories of mine and Yuqi's brotherhood.

I turn to face the rain again and quickly shake everything off. I really shouldn't just forgive her just like that. I still haven't even fully forgiven Soojin over our arguement yet, so why should I treat Yuqi any different?

I'm still treating Soojin the same, though. Or mostly the same at least. I-... I just don't know what to think about this.

The rain falling on the ground and the different plants and bushes not only made a therapeutic sound but also emitted a really soft and nature-like scent. Slowly focusing more and more on the sounds and smells of the rain was soothing me as I felt myself devoid of all thoughts.

I wasn't really feeling like going back inside, so I just opened the tent to cover the table in the garden and sat in one of the chairs looking at the rain.

After a little while I hear someone come join me. I suddenly had a blanket on me and a palm was rubbing my shoulder.

"Oppa, are you gonna eat with us?" Soojin's soft voice said.

I was zoned out and I didn't really make out what she was saying.

"M-mm?" I hummed lifting my head up from the table and sitting properly on the chair trying to act awake.

"Everyone is gathered around for breakfast. Eomma told me you were sleeping here and asked me if I could ask you to join us." she said with a smile.

"I-...um-...Yes...for sure." I nodded getting up and walking inside with Soojin following me.

As I stepped in I felt immense pressure. Everyone was there. And everyone's eyes were fixed on me. Some were concerned, some were happy but I mostly felt like I was glared at.

I kind of froze in place as I went inside due to the looks on me. Soojin patted my back and asked me "Oppa, aren't you going to eat?" before giving me a concerned look.

Looking back at the table, Yuqi quickly looked down towards her food, with Soyeon following suit next to her. Miyeon looked content yet I can never be too sure, especially with what has been going on. Shuhua kind of looked concerned to see me with Eomma next to her, yet she also looked like she was glaring at me. Dad looked happy to see me as he was smiling towards me. Then there's Minnie...

Minnie looked... outraged. Her eyes pierced clean through my body like a bullet. She sent chills all through my whole body.

All of a sudden, every time I have been with every member flashed through my head. Every. Single. Time. It was now 5 out of 6. I have actually become what I wished I wasn't.

A feeling of shame instantly drowns my body. I have basically ruined everything I've been wanting to protect. I felt goosebumps all over my body as my body instantly got taken over guilt.
