Mᴀʀᴄʜᴇʟʟᴀ's was a fancy restaurant and bar with a beautiful view of the ocean located in figure 8. The only reason Kat even managed to get a job there was because her aunt, her absent mother's sister, her husband owned it. Her aunt Cassie took over the role as the older, mother like figure in her life after her mom split when her and Pope were nine. Cassie and her husband, Joey, always helped out no matter how stubborn Kat's dad was about charity.

Joey Marcella had moved to the obx from New Orleans a little over ten years ago and swore he had fallen in love with Cassie the moment he saw her the first time at the Boneyard. He had come from old family money and decided to open a restaurant, his special gumbo was famous in the obx.

"Kat," Joey shook his head, thick cajun accent full of amusement as his niece rushed into the kitchen, hair frizzed as she struggled to pull it back, the gray hat in her hand was tossed onto the counter. "you're late."

Kat grabbed the hat back up after she had managed to tame her hair back into a bun. She was fully aware the hat belonged to Rafe Cameron, he had been wearing it at Topper's party that night. He must of dropped the night before when he had found himself in her backyard. She figured that since he had seen her half naked it was only fair that she got to keep his probably over priced hat.
