Keir Hernandez POV
Imara Lopez, that's her name. The first time I met her was in 6th grade. First day of school.
I was looking for my pen when I saw her walk up to me and ask if I was looking for something. I didn't know how to respond, so I just ignored her question. But, Imara asked again if I was looking for something, I said "no" with a cold tone.
Every person in school knows that I don't like talking to anyone. But she was a new student at that time, so she had no idea.
Math was my third period, so I went into my classroom and sat at the corner of the room. At that time, I was reading a book while I wait for my teacher and classmates to arrive.
I remember Imara walking inside the room while holding her books. I was mesmerized by the beauty I saw, But then I realize that she was walking towards me. I looked back at my book, pretending like I didn't see her coming. She sat next to me And I asked "why are you sitting next to me" with a cold tone. "Why not, it's just a seat and all seats are taken except for this one". She replied.
During our math class, we had an activity where we had to solve 3 problems. She was a bright student, so she had no problem answering 3 of those questions. I wasn't as bright as her, so I asked her for help. She was kind enough to help me with these questions.
After our math class, she was packing her bag, getting ready to go get lunch. When I had the urge to thank her for staying with me and helping me. She happily smiled and replied saying "don't worry about it". She asked if I wanted to go get lunch with her. I said "yes".
That day was the start of our friendship. We would sit beside each other during classes, we would go get lunch together, and We would also go home together since she just lives around the corner of our street. I fell in love with her from the moment I met her, but for now, we'll just stay as best friends.
1 week before graduation
"KEIRR WAKE UP!!" As Imara rushes to my room.
I woke up to the yell of Imara and got up before she reaches my room. I opened the door and saw her running towards me. I didn't have time to move, so we both fell to the ground looking at each other. Imara has beautiful brown eyes. During that time, I was looking deeply into it and saw why I've fallen for her. She has those eyes that melts my heart. A smile that brings joy to my life every time I see her. And a kind and loving personality. But I had to snap out of that dream I see in her.
Imara gets up as quickly as possible and helped me get on my feet. I said, "thank you" while she walks to a chair next to my bed. I asked her to wait for me while I get ready for school and tell me her stories later. She nodded and waited.
Imara Lopez POV
I waited for Keir to finish getting ready for us to go to school. While I waited, I looked out the window and started thinking of what happened earlier.
I remember I was yelling Keir's name and telling him to wake up while running up the stairs. I was about to open the door when suddenly Keir opened it and we both fell to the ground, looking at each other. Looking into Keir's eyes, I realize that my feelings for him got deeper and deeper. These feelings I feel for him aren't for a friend. I wanted something more than just that.

I was sitting on a couch outside the house when I heard the doorbell ring. I got up and went to see who was at the door. I saw no one but saw flowers with a note. I brought the flowers inside and placed it in a vase while I went up to my room and read the note.
Dear Imara,
I just wanted to drop off this flowers for you. I hope you like them. I wasn't able to hand it over to you in person, so I just left it outside your door. I hope you're having a great day!! I also wanted to say goodnight to you since we haven't talked all day. I so sorry, I was really busy with practice. Goodnight!!From your dearest best friend,
KeirI didn't know why keir sends me random letters with flowers, but, I remembered that I told him a story of my parents when they were younger.
My dad used to send notes and flowers to my mom when she gets home from a long day of school. My mother really likes reading books, especially when it's about romance. Father wanted my mom to feel like she was the main character in their story. Even if this story of theirs is not written in a book. I will for sure say that this is one of the best stories I heard.
That is why I set my standards high. I saw how my father treated my mother, but sadly, my mother passed away when I was 5 years old. It was only me and my father ever since.
I realize that Keir was already beside me when I snapped out of my dream. I was getting ready to go with Keir when my phone rang. It was a message from the school, Keir and I planned to go after we graduate. Keir already got his text message for the school saying he passed. I only got mine today. I was scared of what the result would be. Would I need to find another school, or would me and my best friend study separately?! I was panicking at that time, so I asked him to read it, but he refused to, so I left my phone on the table until I was ready to read it.
