June 10, 2019, was the first time we met. I was 12 years old at that time, and it was the first day of school. Students entering the building with their parents. While I walk all alone with no one to tell me "good luck on my first day".

I was walking to my classroom when I saw this boy lost like he was looking for something or someone.

I said hey, are you looking for something? He didn't reply, so I asked again, are you looking for something? He replied with a cold tone and said "no". I said "okay" and walked off.

During my third period, which is my math class, I saw him again sitting in one corner all alone reading a book. I walked up to him and sat beside him. He asked, "why are u sitting next to me?" while all the students sit beside their friends. I said, "why not, it's just a seat and all seats are taken except for this one". He then proceeds to read his book until the teacher arrives.

I was about to pack my bag and leave the class to go get lunch when suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulders, and it was Keir. I turned around, and he looked pleased that I sat next to him. He said "hey, thanks for sitting beside me. No one has ever stayed and kept up with me. They always thought I was mean since I have this cold tone and always sit in the corner of the classroom all alone".

I smiled happily and said "don't worry about it" and asked if he wanted to go get lunch with me? He replied with a smile and said, "yes".

As days passed by, Imara and Keir sat together every day during classes, during breaks times, and go home together since Imara is just right around the corner of keir's street.

They became best friends ever since. Imara and keir were known for being inseparable even during the summer.

Keir will always go to Imara's house to read and play. They would sometimes have sleepovers when Keir's parents are busy with work and Imara's dad is working from home.
