I'm helping my grandma pull weeds out of the garden in tranquil silence when she suddenly speaks up.
"A letter?" I ask. "What are we, pilgrims?"
Miri chuckles. "Internet's still down. But they've invited you to that rich people party that's happening tomorrow."
I furrow my eyebrows. "Midsummers?"
"Ah, yes! That's the name."
Pulling out a weed, I laugh. "Me? At Midsummers? I don't know if that's my biggest dream or my worst nightmare."
"You should go," Miri says, "maybe you'll meet someone rich and get married."
I scoff. "Grandma, if I ever get married to a Kook, don't congratulate me. I did something wrong."
