Chapter 9:

Chase's POV

Well, we're here back in Atlanta. Today I am getting payback at Daniel Saurez, with the help of Ryan who is driving Madison's car this week. Our plan is for Ryan to win, well at least try, so when Madison comes back her car is already in the championship.

"Hey Chase, can we get a quick interview?" Jamie Little asks jogging up to me.

"Yeah sure." I say shaking my head.

"I'm here with last year's Xfinity Champion, Chase Elliott. You've qualified second next to Ty Dillion. What is your game plan for today's race?" She asks.

"Well, I guess it's to go for a win, that's what I need to do to redeem myself from last week at Daytona. But a top five will do for this team." I reply.

"You have a new face at JRM for awhile, Ryan Blaney, filling in for your teammate Madison Blaney. Will we be seeing you two working together today?" She asks.

"Oh definitely, Ryan is an amazing driver and we work well together." I reply.

"Chase Elliott looking to redeem himself after last week at Daytona, where he got his first DNF."

I wave to the camera real quick and walked off towards Erin Coope, to go over pit strategies before the race starts. As I walked towards my car, I stopped at the sound of my phone going off. I grabbed it out of the fire suit's pocket, and saw it was a text from Madison.

From Maddie🙈: Hey Chase!!! Good luck in the race today!!!!

Madison's POV

"Alright Maddie, I'll be right back." Amanda says walking into the kitchen. I nod and pulled out my phone, and texted Chase. After I had sent the first text it wasn't long before I got a reply.

From Chase💙: Hi Maddie! Thanks! How are you feeling today?

I smile and was about to reply until Amanda interrupts me. I looked over my shoulder and see Amanda just standing ther with her eyes glued onto my phone.

"Don't have a crush on Chase Elliott huh? Then why is there a heart by this name!" Amanda says in excitement. Okay, okay, I do admit I have a crush on Chase Elliott, but I honestly don't know if he likes me back... So, I'm not really expecting much...

"Fine I do." I say giving in.

To Chase💙: I'm feeling better, it's good to be back home and not in that hospital.

From Chase💙: That's great! Just rest and take it easy, because I want my teammate back on the track ASAP.

To Chase💙: Don't worry! I'll be back soon enough, if Amanda keeps me captive in my own house and orders me to rest. Haha.

From Chase💙: Haha. Don't let her boss you around too much... She's a troublemaker at times! Anyways the race is about to start, bye Maddie I'll talk to you later!

To Chase💙: Okay bye Chase! Good luck again!

I set my phone on the coffee table and turned the TV channel over to the race. Ryan was in my car for today's race. Before they went to pre race ceremonies they did a quick story and interview.

"Madison Blaney was injured last week at Daytona International Speedway last weekend.She was fighting for the lead with Daniel Saurez, on the very last lap. That wreck will take her about for nine long weeks. This week her older brother Ryan Blaney, will be taking over her #8 car for our second race here at Atlanta. Jamie Little is with Ryan Blaney right now." Darrell says. The screen flips over to Ryan and Jamie Little.
