KEVINS POV
BEEP BEEP BEEP
Slowly I rolled over. 8:00. I groan and poke the woman laying next to me. the body giggles a little until it rolls over to face me. The smile I see so often makes my heart flutter like jt always does. Amanda snuggles closer to Me. I remember our wedding. Her long lace white dress dragging behind her. Her hair in a wonderful waterfall braid with flowers placed seemingly random but looking perfect. It seemed like yesterday yet it has been 5 years.
"Amanda" I say in a sing stingy voice once again poking her shoulder. "It's time to get up."
"Nooooo" she groans and hurries herself deeper into the covers.
"All right but Chrissie and David aren't gonna be late for mommy's time out"
She picks up her head and looks at the time. as her eyes widened slowly I laughed to myself. she jumps out of bed and starts getting dressed. I myself roll out of bed and put on some khakis and a plaid blue shirt.
Amanda wakes up the twins as I get their bags ready. 4 year olds are a lot to pack for. Mommy's time out is the daycare down the road.
I smile to myself as I hear the soft pitter patter of feet and their mommy's voice soothily trying to get them to hurry up.
"Daddy!" They sing in chorus
"Well good morning kids" I smile and give each a high five, "ok now go eat breakfast."
They stumble to their seats and proceed to eat their cereal. Amanda slumps into a chair sipping her coffee.
"This whole mom thing is hard work " she huffs
I walk to her and put my arms around her and just held her there for a minute. I softly lifted her face to look into my eyes.
"And you are the best mommy I have ever seen. Oh and I've been thinking, maybe we could both take off work today and just have a day out. No kids. no work. just me you and the coffee shop." She smiles lightly
"I would love that." She then turns towards the kids, "all right, go brush your teeth and then we are outta here!" She says all perky even though she is so exhausted.

After we dropped off the kids we drove to the little cafe at the corner. We order two coffees and some donuts and sat down.
"You know Amanda. Even after being kidnapped and cursed we did something right. After collecting all those dang ingredients and breaking the curse we got to have two amazing adorable kids. Two kids who are a living reminder that even through all the pain and weariness that it was worth it. A living reminder that I have an amazing wife who went through so much just for a scrawny little boy like me. A living reminder that the day I finally decided to leave my worthless family was the best decision I have ever made. A living reminder that my stupid life wasn't all that stupid." I held her hands in mine, tears prickling both hers and my eyes.
"Those living reminders are what this adventure has given us, and I don't regret anything at all." Her hands tighten over mine "Kevin, i have and always will love you"
"I can't put it into words for my heart aches so much for you. You are my world. My life. Each breath I take is thanks to you, cause I'd be dead without you. Amanda, my friend, my step-sister, my wife, I love you."
