As Sasuke was packing up his back pack with books and papers, he made his way to the main hall. It was slightly crowded since everyone was eager to go home for the weekend. He stopped to get a drink and heard familiar voices nearby. Curiousity got the best of him and he followed the voices. Soon he reached an empty computer room where a certain blonde was. Sasuke was sure he wasn't alone. He squinted to see that it was a ravenette.
"N-Naruto kun, why I hope I helped you with you're homework," she said with a soft voice.
"It's okay, Hinata, I really appreciate you're help. I'm just kinda an idiot when it comes to numbers and thereoms." He blushed, with that childish grin on his face. Sasuke mumbled to himself as he decided to interupt and give a "casual" cough. Why? This wasn't like him. He was pretty surprised himself.
"Sasuke? Whaddya doing here?" Naruto asked. Hinata felt slightly uncomfortable around the dark haired male. He did look intimidating with the scowl decorating his face. She turned to Naruto and smiled shyly.
"I'll think I'll go now. I have cousin Neji waiting for me. Good bye, Naruto kun." She bowed and walked by Sasuke, avoiding eye contact. He watched her go, until Naruto walked up to him.
"What's up? Why are you here?" The blonde gave Sasuke a confusing look.
Now the Uchiha had to come up with an excuse. "Kiba told me that you needed a ride home so I thought I'd take you if you wanted." He lied smoothly. Not that the oblivious other would notice. Naruto shrugged and put his bag over his shoulder.
"Sure I guess." He replied, uncertain of how awkward it was getting for the two teenagers.
They were getting in the car and Sasuke had the urge to ask him why he was with Hinata. Why he hadn't asked him instead since he was practically advanced in his studies. Sasuke couldn't help but to give small glances at Naruto. He was attractive, which doesn't surprise him, since some girls were really into him. His personality was annoying, but Sasuke learned to get around it. Sometimes he was funny, sometimes he was sweet.
No, Sasuke, you most certainly don't like him. No! You don't like guys...do I? He's cute...no he's...I don't like him. He's annoying and loud and brings a lot of attention to himself. Sasuke thought over and over. He finally turned to Naruto as they exited the parking lot.
"Where do we go from here?"
"About two blocks from Konoha's Theme Park, there's a street and an apartment building." He said.
"You live next the theme park?" Sasuke asked. Naruto nodded.
"I would go but, it would be kinda awkward for a teenager like me to go, ya' know what I mean? Although, Hinata did invite me to go with her and her little sister."
He knew he would lose Naruto to the cute shy girl. Why did he care anyway? He's Sasuke Uchiha. Prodigy and former number one hottie in the whole grade. It meant nothing.
"Why don't we go..." It just slipped. Then there was a nervous tension in the car.
"What...?" Naruto blinked.
"Nevermind, I don't know why I said that."
"Well why not? I think it'd be fun!"
Sasuke almost choked his own saliva at the unexpected response from the blonde, who Sasuke was gaining small feelings for. He wasn't sure what he felt with him. Friendship? Companionship? Rivalry? Love? Whatever it was, Sasuke wasn't minding it at all.
They arrived to the apartment building, with old looking windows and staircases. It never accured to Sasuke if Naruto had a family or siblings.
"Thanks for the ride, Sasuke." Naruto said getting his bag.
"You live alone?"
Naruto looked at the building and nodded. "My mom died giving birth to me and my dad...I don't know anything about him. For all I know, he could of just given up on me and my mom." Sasuke gave him a mutual response. His family died in an accident and his brother left him alone. They were alike. This gave Sasuke the sudden complusion of filling in Naruto's life as a close friend or even a loved one. Something they both needed so desperately.
"Anyways, it doesn't matter. I'm still happy and that's all that counts, right? Well I should go. Thanks again." He opened the door, placing a fake smile on his face once again. It was all too obivious to Sasuke, as he regretted asking him.
"I can't wait until we go to the them park together. Later." Naruto closed the door from the car, leaving the raven haired male in the car. He had guilt rush over him like wildfire as he watched the blonde play the part of a happy teenager with a normal life. Sasuke shook the thought away from his mind and made his way home. There was only one thought roaming in the back of his head, and that was Naruto. As good at faking a smile as he was, something was telling Sasuke that Naruto needed protection. Someone to be there for him and that someone is no other that Sasuke.
