The Sun Hates Me

Summary: All Bucky wants to do is spend a day at the beach with his girlfriend. Y/N claims that if she gets sunburned he has to take care of her and when that happens, he's more than happy too.

(This is just tons of fluff)

"Can we go to the beach? Pleaseeeeeeee?" Bucky asked for about the millionth time, plopping down on his and Y/N's bed, as his girlfriend was in the middle of finishing up a text to Natasha.

Y/N smiled, half exasperated, half amused, and looked up at the soldier. "Why do you keep asking that?" She said.

"Why do you keep refusing, doll?" He countered back with a smirk.

Y/N sighed and tossed her phone to the side. "Because every time I go to the beach I get sunburned," she said, leaning back against the bed.

Bucky huffed, thinking for a moment, and put Y/N's feet in his lap. "Do you put on sunscreen?" He asked.

Y/N glared at him. "Yes, and it doesn't work," she grumbled.

Bucky couldn't help but chuckle. She was so adorable when she pouted. "I'll make you a deal: humor me and go to the beach and if you get sunburned, I promise I'll take care of you and give you anything you want," he proposed.

Y/N sat up with a slight gasp, an idea coming to her mind. "Even chocolate for dinner?" She said.

Bucky laughed and nodded. "I give you my word," he assured her.

When Y/N and Bucky finally got a day off from the hectic Avengers tower, they decided that that would be their beach day. They packed their swimming suits, grabbed their towels, and drove over to the nearest beach in Bucky's car.

Stepping outside and walking on the beach, Y/N couldn't help but smile. It was such a gorgeous day. Hot, definitely, but gorgeous. She couldn't wait to drag Bucky into the ocean and sunbathe in total relaxation. It was like paradise.

The first thing she did, though, was put a whole ton of sunscreen on herself, and she ignored Bucky's amused snort and quiet laughs, pretending she did not hear it. Y/N also insisted that Bucky put on sunscreen, not wanting to hear him whine about getting sunburned on top of her own whines, which he reluctantly complied with. When they did that and laid their towels on the beach, their day of fun began.

First, they sunbathed, letting the sun provide a warm blanket for them. However Y/N soon got bored and wanted to go in the ocean, so she did just that. Bucky continued to sunbathe but watched her with the happiest grin on her face, as she pretended to surf and enjoyed as the waves washed over her legs. Y/N also started searching for seashells and would bring each one back to Bucky, as he would keep track of her collection. When she went further into the water and bent down to retrieve a seashell, a stronger wave went over her. Bucky chuckled at first, but when he didn't see her emerge, he worried.

The soldier quickly called her name and stood up, running to the ocean and was about to emerge himself entirely in the water to find her, when she suddenly popped up. Y/N had a big grin on her face despite having gotten soaked wet, and was holding two big and beautiful seashells in her hand.

Bucky just smiled, relieved, and then picked her up, spinning her around and making her squeal. "Buck, I'll drop my seashells!" She said through her giggles, but then gasped and looked at him in awe when he put her down. "Let's make a sand-man!"

Bucky watched as she suddenly ran over to the sand and knelt down, confused. "A what?" He asked, following her.

"Like a snow-man but made out of sand!" She said, and got to work gathering sand in her arms.

Bucky joined her, and soon they made the perfect sand-man, which they soon called their sand-son and named him Sam Steve Y/L/N-Barnes, and named Natasha the godmother. Sam their sand-son. They got settled on the towels again, admired their sand-son, and watched the sunset.

After a couple moments of peaceful silence, Y/N said, "Okay, the sun hates me!"

Bucky looked over and smiled empathetically when he saw her pointing to a large sun burn on her stomach. "I'll take care of you, doll," he said, kissing her on the forehead. The next day he let her complain about how much her skin hurt when it was touched and how it blistered. He supplied her with lots of ice packs and was there to distract her with movies and tickles.
