Captain Silver stood silent as confusion washed across his crew. They looked to him for answers, as Thorn continued to command the ship that wasn't his. Silver composed himself after a moment and told the crew that the Praetorian commander's control was within regulation. This was a moment every vessel commander dreaded when it came to dealing with Praetorian's. For the most part, they usually kept to themselves on the ship. Occasionally they might ask their ship's captain to make a slight detour to complete their mission, but never demanded full take over. For the foreseeable future, Silver was no longer captain of his vessel, and was merely a passenger.
Thorn approached the main view screen and uploaded the limited information he had access to on gamma team's mission. He was shown a layout of an outpost they were assigned to protect and basic topography of the planet, but not enough for full tactical analysis. He would have to wait until the ship got to its destination before getting anymore info, but that wait wouldn't be long as Richards announced that they were about to exit the jump above the planet.
The entire ship shuddered as it reappeared in normal space just outside the planet's gravity well.
"Nav, get me a live feed on the surrounding area of the outpost. Show all friendly IFFs as well as any other life forms." Thorn asked
"We came out the wrong side of the planet sir, 4 minutes until geosynchronous orbit above the outpost" Mikhail added.
Thorn knew the Praetorian's on the ground didn't have that much time, he had to act quickly if he wanted to save those warriors.
"Belay my last orders, Lieutenant, bring us in now do whatever you have to do, just get us there fast.
"Aye sir, risking potential burn up for a speedy entry." the lieutenant said sarcastically.
"Give me ship wide coms" he asked Anita as he leaned over to the radio. "Praetorians, there is some brothers and sisters in trouble planet side and I offered our help. Report to the cargo bay and prepare for low altitude insertion." he then turned to Silver, telling him that the ship is back under its rightful captain's control before he left the bridge and headed for the cargo bay to join his soldiers.
