~at Derek's house; Kayla's birthday party

Derek: "Damn, boy. I understand her part though."

Kobe: "Well I can't blame her, I wouldn't trust me either. I was an ass to her."

Derek: "Don't beat yourself up too much, Kobe. I'm sure she'll come around, for now, spend some time with your kid."

While Kobe and Derek were chit-chatting, Kayla along with the other kids were having fun. Well... sorta.

Ahkeel: "Hey! What are you doing?! This isn't your cake!"

Little Boy: "Does it matter? I want more!"
-he said, reaching for the cake.

Ahkeel: "It's not yours! Leave it!"
-he yelled , pushing the other boy.

Little Boy: "Did you just push me?!"
-he asked, getting up from the floor.

Ahkeel: "So what?! You got a problem? I already told you, it's not your cake!"

Kayla: "What's going on here?"
-she asked, walking over to the two boys.

The boys ignored her question and continued glaring at each other, not being aware of their surroundings. 

The little boy was furious that he pushed Ahkeel a bit too hard, his back hitting the table.

The cake was on the same table, everyone watched in shock as the cake wobbled. 

Kayla: "The cake! Daddy, the cake! It's gonna fall!"
-she yelled, pointing at it.

Kobe and Derek quickly snapped their head in the kids' direction. Derek widened his eyes and quickly sprinted over to catch the cake that was now falling.
But he wasn't fast enough so it splattered to the floor.

Derek looked back up at Kay;a who had teary eyes. 

Derek: "No, no! Baby, don't cry. Daddy will buy you another-"

Kayla cried out and quickly left the living room and going to hers, tears trailing behind her.

Ahkeel: "See what you did! You ruined my sister's cake and you made her cry!"
-he yelled, looking at the boy.

Little: "I just wanted a slice!"

Ahkeel: "I'll kill you!"

Ahkeel started charging after the boy, making Kobe get up from the couch. 

Kobe: "Ahkeel, don't--"

-flashback-

"Stay the fuck away from my sister.. Or I'll murder you."

-flashback over-

The words King said replayed in Kobe's mind as he heard Ahkeel's threat towards the little boy.
