{All He Ever Lusted}
Chapter Sixteen - An 18 Year Old's First Ever DMC
➳ STACEY'S POV
“So that was shocking,” Vivian says. We had arranged a revision session for the upcoming Math exam, it was the only class we had together so we were just like why not? Besides I could really use some catching up and a lot of distraction with the thoughts in my mind. “The Whitney and Alistar thing.”
“Oh, yeah,” was all I replied with, as I began flipping through the pages rapidly.
“Oh yeah?” Vivian exclaims. “Is that all you’ve got to say?”
“Uh, is there anything more I should say?”
“One of them is your roommate and the other is your crush, shouldn't you have an opinion on this?”
“For the hundredth time, Viv, I don’t like that guy.”
“Yes you do, Stacey,” Vivian rolls her eyes. “It’s so obvious. I’m saying this for your sake, steal your man back. Claim back what was rightfully yours. I never liked that Whitney girl.”
“Two things. He was never mine so I have nothing to claim. And what has Whitney ever done to you?”
“She hasn’t done anything to me at all,” Vivian shrugs. “She doesn't even acknowledge me. Probably doesn't even know I exist. But it’s just a girl’s instinct to know that she’s a no-good bitch.”
“A bit rude to say about someone you don’t even know, isn’t it Viv?”
“Not rude when it’s true,” Vivian said. “Dude, I witnessed the whole cafeteria scene. She was shooting daggers at you whenever you were within a metre of Alistar. That girl has issues. She’s probably a murderer. Or she just hates you.”
“Can we please not talk about this? Anything but this, okay? How about trigonometry? That’s pretty interesting.”
“You’re only trying to avoid the topic because you know how much you like Alistar,” Vivian sings-songs, as I groan. Well she wasn’t wrong, but could I trust her? She had been friendly to me for the past few weeks and if I didn’t have her I would’ve been late to every lesson, assembly, meal. But was she going to turn on me if I told her everything? Or just about Alistar?
“Hey, Viv…” I say after a couple moment of silence.
“Hm?”
“If I told you something, you promise you won’t make a big deal out of it, okay?”
“Sure,” she says, not looking up from the problem she was working on.
“No going ‘I knew it’ or ‘I’m going to tell everyone’ or black-mailing me into doing your homework or anything, alright? No causing a scene.”
“Yes, Stacey. I wouldn't even need you to do my homework for me, by the way. But either way, yes. I won’t do anything you won’t like,” she looks up from the textbook and stares at me, waiting for me to talk.
“So, what you said earlier,” I bit my lips. “May have been true.”
“What did I say?” She pauses, then gasps loudly as I shush her. “Oh my god. Really, Stacey?” She was gradually getting louder and people from the other tables were beginning to look over, giving us dirty looks.
So much for not doing anything I wouldn’t like.
“Quiet down,” I whisper. She nods, then begins talking.
