Chapter 19

-Arisa POV-

'Byakuya, you are amazing'
When I saw the silver go away, I realised what it was.
'You made a freaking record'

"A freaking record" I said.
"My dad and the crew's voices are on there" said Senku. "They bothered to leave us a voice recording. Let's hear what they had to say. I'll kill you if it isn't something exhilarating, you deadbeat dad"

Senku made a record player.
When it was about to play, I held his hand.
He squeezed it tightly, I knew he didn't like showing emotions, but...

"I don't know who's listening to this, hundreds, maybe thousands of years from now..." it was Byakuya's voice... "But I'm the astronaut, Byakuya Ishigami"
Everyone in the village made quite the fuss.

"Shut up, we can't hear" said Senku.
"This is the voice of the founder of Ishigami Village" said Kokuyo.
"Senku's father's actual voice!" said Kohaku.

"Just kidding!" said Byakuya. "That's it for the stuffy formalities. You revived from the petrification, and now you're listening to this recording. Senku, it's you isn't it? And knowing Ari, she's right there with you. I can tell. Hundreds, thousands, maybe an unthinkable number of years later, I'm making my final call to the two of you. Not that I can hear you... Senku, don't forget. I've always, always... nah, you don't need that dramatic father-and-son crap, do you? Let's get right to business"

"You really do get it" said Senku.
"But Ari does appreciate it" said Byakuya. "Arisa, I wanted you to know, that I thought of you as a daughter. You were a part of our family... So I ask of you, please, make sure Senku doesn't' get himself into trouble. You're the only family he has left now"

"Jeez, you didn't have to put that on a recording, you dumbass" I sighed.
"Senku, Arisa, if you're still having a hard time winning over the hearts of the villagers, let them hear this" said Byakuya, and music began to play.

'Is that Lilian Weinburg? Singing?!'
"Song" said Ruri.
"But it's too pretty" said Suika.

"It's the voice of an angel" said Kaseki.
"It's so amazing!" cried Ginro, who was still spinning the wheel.
"Lilian was one of the top singers of our age" said Gen. "Imagine that being the first son you hear"

"Oh, man" cried Chrome. "Two million years of humanity... oh man! Senku, Ari, was there all kinds of awesome music like this in the past?"
"Yeah" said Senku. "And not just music. Games, TV, comics, movies,... all entertainment that science made possible. There was a ton of incredibly fun stuff all over the world. The real thing's gone now, but it's al there... in people's hearts. I'm going to let all of you see it, once we take down the Tsukasa Empire and revive all the world's statues"

"I really want to see everything!" said Suika, everyone was excited!
"This is so damn exciting!" said Kaseki.
"All the world's statues!" said Kinro.

"Let's revive them all!" said Ginro.
"So our first step is to take down the so-called Tsukasa Empire, is that right?" said Magma.
"This is awesome" said Chrome. "Everyone's totally pumped!"

"Your dad's got skill" said Gen. "He's motivated the entire village to revive all the people who've been petrified. All with just Lilian's singing. Doesn't this also wash away your guilt for having dragged the villagers into a war?"
"I've never had that kind of guilt" said Senku.

We were ready, ready for the battle.
Well almost...
The final battle between the kingdom of science and the Tsukasa Empire would soon begin.
