NO POV

Trisha and Meg were standing by the coffee machine, waiting for it to brew.

"So Shish, have you asked one of the guys yet?" Meg said.

"Well, no. Actually, um...I wanted to ask if you would come with me when I ask them. I'm way too shy to go by myself, and I didn't want to send a text." Trisha said timidly.

"of course, honey. Whenever you're ready."

The two ladies walked away from the counter, coffee in hand towards the writer's room, but remained at a distance.

"Who should we ask?" Trisha said.

"How about Joe? He's married; he knows what he's doing."

"I'm not asking Joe, don't you remember what happened?"

"Oh yeah, that's right." Meg said, remembering what happened between the two. "Girl, you have some relationship problems."

"Yeah, tell me something I don't know. Come on, who can we ask? Elliott?"

"Yeah, I guess so."

"Ok, go ask him to come outside." Trisha said, edging towards the main exit.

"What? Why me?" Meg appealed.

"Well I can't go, Meg. Please do this for me." Trisha begged.

"*sigh* the things I do for you, Shish."

"Thanks, Meg. I owe you one." Trisha said, heading outside.

Meg walked into the writer's room, thinking about what she would say.

"Hey Elliott."

"Yeah?" He answered, taking out his earphones.

"I need your help with something, could you come outside for a sec?"

"sure."

The two left the room, and Meg then lead Elliott outside, to where Trisha was.

"Oh hey, Trish. What's up?"

"Before I say anything, you have to promise to not tell anyone about this, ok?" Trisha said, still a bit nervous.

"Ooh, sounds serious." Elliott replied. "What do you need?"

"Well...recently...I've been sort of thinking...and, um-"

"She needs relationship help." Meg interrupted.

"What about?" Elliott enquired.

"She has a crush on Ross." Meg said. Trisha's face went red at the sound of this.

"ROSS? Really?" Elliott said, stunned."

"The problem is that she doesn't know how to ask him out, or if he even finds her attractive or not."

"Well, Ross is single, so he'll undoubtedly find you attractive, Trish."

"Really?" Trisha asked, relaxing a little.

"Of course. You're a beautiful, nerdy girl. That's exactly his type." Elliott said, reassuring Trisha.

"So then why doesn't he like me then?"

"It's probably because he doesn't know you're interested in him." Meg said.

"Yeah, just yesterday I was talking with him, and he said he was tired of not having a relationship." Elliott added.

"Really? He said that?" Trisha asked, excitedly.

"Yeah, absolutely. If you ask him out, he'll definitely say yes." Elliott said reassuringly.

"Ok, thanks so much El." Trisha said.

"No problem. You can call me the relationship king from now on." He said, jokingly.

"So, how do I go about actually asking him then?" Trish asked.

"Well, that's where my usefulness ends really. I haven't asked a girl out since I was eighteen."

"I thought you were the relationship king?" Meg said.

"Yeah, the 'relationship' king. Once you ask him out, I can give you endless advice. Until then, you're on your own." Elliott answered, putting a frown on Trisha's face.

" Great, now what do I do?" Trisha said.

"You can always ask someone else for help." Meg proposed.

"But, who? Who is constantly asking people out? Trisha asked.

"Lee." Meg and Elliott said in unison, without a moment's hesitation.

"That lady is always on the prowl." Elliott added.

"Yeah, she's like a horny tiger." Meg said, laughing.

"I believe it's politically correct to refer to her kind as cougars nowadays." Elliott added, also laughing.

"Thanks for the help guys." Trisha said sarcastically.
