A Unexpected Meeting[ON HIATUS]

Chapter 13

Alexandre's POV:

I looked up from the papers, grinned at Elyvn  and said,

" That was amazing Vyn....but you sure she won't cause trouble for you?"

He smirked and said,

" I would like to see her try. She forgets that I have much more influence here. And."

He turned and glared at me.

" Alex how long are you gonna keep this up? How long am I gonna keep helping you out of this situations? Alex if you don't want to marry her, TELL YOUR PARENTS SO. Don't just keep pretending,Alex. You are giving her false hope! She takes your silence as your approval. Do you realise how troublesome she is going to be when you finally find your mate?"

Ario put a hand on Elyvn's shoulders. He stopped talking but kept glaring at me.

Normally if anyone talked to me like this, my first instinct would be to snap their necks. But I knew that Elyvn meant no harm. Elyvn has always been almost like a elder brother to me rather than my beta and I knew that all his words were true.

" I am sorry Vnn.I don't know what to do Elyvn. You know my dilemma. Mom and dad will never agree to cancel the engagement. They love her. They think she is some kind of angel. What am I supposed to do in such a situation."

Elyvn stopped glaring at me and sighed,

" I am sorry too. I shouldn't have lost control like that. It's just that.....she gets on my nerves. Sometimes I feel like..."

He made a strangling gesture with his hands.

" And I hate seeing you suffer Alex. I just wish ....would find him soon."

Him?

Whom?

" Besides that's not what we are here to talk about! We had a new employee join today."

He handed me the paper containing the details of the employee.

Luka Moon.

I looked at the picture. He looked oddly familiar. It was as if I had seen him somewhere but I couldn't remember where. He looked a lot like Louis too.

I scanned the information. 25 years old. Werewolf. Rogue/lone wolf. Medical health status: pregnant.

I looked at them and asked,

" So he is gonna join the pack?"

They shook their heads.

I frowned and said,

" Why?"

Ario said,

" He seemed oddly scared when Elyvn mentioned the whole pack joining thing. I guess he is fine staying a rogue."

I stroked my chin and said,

" You both know anything about his history or background?"

They both shook their heads but Elyvn seemed oddly stiff.

I sighed and said,

" I am sorry but I can't give my approval."

Elyvn's eyes widened.

" Why???"

I calmly said,

" Elyvn you know that your employees not only have free access to any supernatural territory but also complete free access to our pack. I can't allow any unidentified rogue
to enter our pack. It's for all our safety. I am very sorry Elyvn and Ario, but I can't simply allow that. As a alpha it's my responsibility to protect my people."

A mask of calm fell over Elyvn's face.

He said,

" I will take responsibility for him. If he causes any disturbance in the pack or even causes harm to any pack member without a reason or for his own hostile intentions I will accept the punishment. "

His voice was calm and gaze unfaltering.

Ario and my face were masks of shock. Elyvn was never like this. He NEVER trusted anyone this easily. But here he was.

I looked at the picture again.

If this stranger could make Elyvn trust him so easily, he must be something.

I looked up and said,

" Fine. You have my approval. But remember Elyvn. The oath you have taken is binding till he has earned my trust. But if he does anything before that....even I can't save you."

Elyvn nodded.

I smiled and said,

" On a cheerful note, if we don't hurry up we will be brutally murdered by Louis and my mom. So let's not go there."

They both chuckled and walked out of the door as I sorted out my papers.

Just as Elyvn was going to close the door I said,

" Elyvn."

He hummed.

" Who is he?"

Elyvn faced me with a unreadable expression on his face.

" He is someone I know from my past. Someone who helped me at my weakest. Someone who is very important to me and I hope....."

He looked directly at my eyes and said,

" Will be important to you too."

He turned and walked away leaving me to ponder over his words.

There will be one last update before I go on a month long hiatus~
This book will update again from September,2021.
My exams are approaching and therefore I will not be able to spend much time writing.
The next update will be very short, more like a little insight to Alexandre's family and Elyvn's family.
