Kelly didn't talk to Celeste for the rest of the day. Even after Valrein came to get Kelly and Celeste to take them to a man called Henley. Even when Celeste tried to talk to Kelly.
"Welcome to Magic. We will start by testing you two then you will join Isadora and the Griffins in training. This test will decide if you're a which, a wizard, or a warlock. This is a physical examination. If you can't do anything on this list, please let me know," Henley said as soon as the girls sat down.
Celeste groaned when she saw the list. There would be a lot of running and climbing. Her mom was always telling her she needed to get more exercise. Maybe she should've headed her advice. Celeste couldn't even do a pushup.
"I can do all of it," Kelly said.
"S- so can I," Celeste was lying, but if Kelly could do it, then so could she.
"All right then. Let's head outside," Henley said.
He led the girls through the winding halls. They went outside. THe were near the awing that they saw when they first saw when they came to the second world.
"What's that?" Celeste asked, pointing to the awning.
"A party," said Henley.
"Why did I feel happy when I went under it?" Celeste asked.
"It's a party. Everyone feels happy at a party. Oh look, there's the obstacle course," Henley changed the subject quickly.
Kelly knit her eyebrows together, she looked like she was about to say something. but then decided against it.
Celeste looked over to the obstacle course and gulped. There was a giant climbing wall, monkey bars, and several other torture machines.
"This supposed to test our magic?" laughed Kelly, staring at the course, "The P.E. is harder than this."
"This seems plenty hard," said Celeste, her eyes wide with fright.
"There will be plenty of surprises along the way," Henley assured Kelly.
"Oh, goody," sighed Celeste.
"Line up on this line. You to will race to the end of the course. The winner gets a case of Havenberry ice cream. I will be judging what magic comes out of you on the course."
Kelly and Celeste lined up. Celeste tried to smile at Kelly, but she ignored her.
"Three, two, one!" Henley said.
Celeste ran to the monkey bars. She looked over, while she was only halfway to them, Kelly was on the third bar. Celeste ran faster. She jumped up and grabbed the first bar. She remembered playing at the park with Gabriella. Gabriella could skip two bars. It looked like Kelly could only do one bar at a time. Maybe Celeste could do two bars and beat Kelly.
Celeste started the monkey bars. She was surprised to see that she actually could do two at a time. She jumped off and realized that she was already halfway to the next obstacle. She was ahead of Kelly.
Celeste panted as she reached the hurdles. Celeste jumped over the first one. She looked down and panicked. She was at least five feet above the ground! Then she had an idea. Celeste let her instincts take over. The wind pushed Celeste over all the hurdles.
Celeste used the wind to send her over the rest of the obstacles. When she made it above the finish line, Celeste dropped. Kelly was still on the hurdles.
Henley came running to Celeste, laughing.
"Congratulations, you're a wizard Celeste. I'll give you your prize when we go inside," he said when he reached her.
