The next couple of days were spent mostly doing as little as possible as I needed to recover some of that energy, I lost burning a man to death. a Fact I still had trouble coming to grips with. I found that reading took my mind of most things and to add to it. Today Layla and Anna had forced me into a bathing suit and out to swim and relax by the pool.
I had forgotten what it was like to have close girl friends to talk about anything to.
"So the guys have decided to have a night of fun. They have invited some of the groupies so I think we should join and get hammered." Stated Anna. She hated the groupies as they always made her feel like the annoying little sister getting in the way of them getting their man. I wasn't looking forward to seeing Ashley again but a night with these two girls could only be fun.
"At least tomorrow morning we will have a walk of shame show to go with our hang over coffee as the guys kick the girls out." Anna said, making Layla laugh out loud and making my vision of her come true. So far it was two for four. Still giving me hope that maybe I won't just open my legs for that man that's favorite pass time was threatening me. Although it has been a while since that has happened. Mostly he just avoided me as much as he could. I'm not sure if it was because he had some inkling of what my vision was, and he was trying to avoid me for the same reason I was trying to avoid him or maybe he really just does not like me and now that he knows I am helping just staying clear of me is less annoyance for him.
Either way it was just best to stay completely clear of one another.
After our mini pool party the girls and I went upstairs to change for the party. I took a shower and got dressed in a modest but flattering black dress with a pair of sandals. I dried my hair and put on a little bit of makeup and headed downstairs.
All five guys, Layla and Anna as well as four other girls, including Ashley were in the drawing room. Drinking chatting and having a good time. Ashley hanging on Zane's every word and laughing at everything he says. A little bit of jealousy rose its head, but I scoffed it back down and decided to get myself something to drink and join Anna who was talking to Layla on the sofa.
We spent most of the night talking about girl things and making fun of the groupies. Michael kept refilling everyone's drinks and Max and Zane were talking in the chairs by the fire. Both with a groupie on their laps. Ashley on Zane's looking like a kitten been given milk, almost audibly purring cause of the attention she was getting from Zane and Max with tall skinny blond on his lap whom I've never seen before. Anna and I switched our seats, so we didn't have to look in their direction. Anna I could understand. She was in love with Max and was clearly no longer enjoying herself, but I have no idea why I had stopped having fun for the same reason. Zane hated me. and if he kept his distance, I hated him. So why was it bugging me that Ashley was all over him.
"Let's do shots." Anna insisted. Clearly wanting to numb the pain of seeing Max with another girl.
We took a few and I was starting to feel the effects of the shots. My head started to spin and suddenly life didn't seem bad at all. Nothing was scary or intimidating anymore. We were all just a group of friends having fun. That was until Anna looked over and saw Max making out with the blond on his lap and then excused herself. I decided to give her a minute and then followed her up to her room. Clearly knowing what was coming. I knocked on Anna's room door and already knowing where she was and what she was doing, went inside and found her on her bathroom floor crying. I sat down next to her to comfort her. It was a mixture of seeing Max but also the drink didn't help. The shots had clearly hit her a little harder than it had hit me.
"I'm going to go downstairs and get you some water and headache tablet for tomorrow morning." I said when her shudders had stopped, and I was sure she was close to falling asleep. She nodded her head and started on cleaning herself up and getting into some sleeping clothes.
