"Just wait till I come out. This won't take long. If I'm not out in 15 minutes, then come for me. But he's probably not even in there." I tried to placate both Oscar and Adonis from following me into Michael's apartment.

"What if he does something to you? We won't be able to help!" "You better not take long." Stated Adonis neutrally.
Oscar looked at him with something akin to  shock and betrayal.

"What!?" "If anything happens then he should run to the bathroom as quickly as he can and lock the door. Then call us and we'll be there."

I mouthed a thank you then turned around and headed into the complex.

It was quiet in there. I almost felt relieved at the thought that Michael might not be there at all. But of course luck is never really on my side at the times I really need it.

I was spooked half to death when I found Michael laying on the floor by the heater he'd handcuff me to. How ironic that the capturer has now fallen to the lowly pits of pathetic as the once prisoner.

I could have scoffed if it wasn't tugging at my pathetic little heart strings. "Michael?"
His eyes peeled open ever so slowly. "Who?" His hoarse voice asked. "Mason." I swallowed down the anxiety.

I should just get my things and go. I shouldn't waste time on this sorry excuse of a human being.

"Mase?"

"Is that you Mase?" His arm dropped pathetically and a weak smile spread on his sad greasy face. "You came back! You came to save me."

Save him?

Me?

Michael I was the one that needed saving, from you!

But not anymore.

You saved me once. I'll never forget. You'll never let me forget it. Because if you hadn't, I'll be dead right now. But if I stay with you I'll die eventually anyway.

"No, Mike. I didn't. I came to get my things and leave." He looked up at me with sadness. "Where are you going?" He didn't give me time before he crawled across the floor to me. Groveling at my feet.

"You can't- you can't leave me! Mase, I'll-I'll, I'll change! I won't become him again. I swear! Mason, don't leave me. You can't leave me!"

He started grabbing on to my hands and pants.

Keep it together Mason!

I hated to see him like this but this version of him, is slightly better than his normally asshole, sadistic self.

This Michael, is the Michael off the heavy drugs. This is Mikey. Who Michael really is. The person I fell in love with because he was so nice and gentle. The angel that saved me that afternoon from ending my own life.

The person that took me in when I didn't have a place to stay.

I still don't know why he started the drugs.

"Don't leave me please." He whispered weakly.

I stayed silent. Fists clenched by my sides.

"I have to, Mikey. I have to leave you. Because if I don't, it'll be just like that day all over again." He froze at that. "I've always loved you. But I can't stay with you."
I crouched down to his level, taking his face in my hands. Softly weaving my hands through his hair.
"I'm breaking up with you Michael." I said softly. He hadn't made eye contact with me until that moment.
