"Okay, okay. Mind telling me what's going on first?" Miyo asked, setting me back down on her couch.

"It's partly my fault-" I say, but Miyo gives me a look.

"I don't care whose fault it is. But I do care about finding out whoever did you wrong!" Miyo stated, her tone firm.

"Okay, fine. I ran away because Clay misunderstood Cade and I." I say, simplifyung the whole story.

"What? Cade? Doesn't Clay know he's gay?" Miyo asks, her eyes clouded with confusion.

"Yeah but after he broke up with my... relative, he got a huge glow up and Clay didn't know it was him,"

"So that's where he misunderstood the shit." Miyo sighs. I widen my eyes-- Miyo hardly ever swore. I've heard her curse once or twice but that was in a span of four years.

"Oh, sorry," She giggles, observing my dumbfounded expression. I shake my head and continue.

"Clay saw us hugging and he must've assumed I was cheating on him," I sigh, slouching down on the couch.

"What happened before that, then?" Miyo asks, her eyes narrowing.

"I met a girl... Samantha. She scratched my car in a parking lot and she promised to get me coffee sometime," I start hesitantly, still debating whether Miyo would be upset that I didn't tell her sooner or angry about it.
Miyo didn't give off any hints and stared right at me.
"Then when I met her... for the second time I think? She tried blackmailing me with my personal information to try to get me to leave Clay."

"By 'personal information', Samantha wants to spread it online? If you don't leave Clay?" Miyo asks.
I nod, tearing up again.

"Y/N I might have a temporary solu-" Miyo started, to get cut off by the ring of her phone.

"Hello?" she answers, putting her phone on speaker when she checked the caller id.

"Miyo? Have you seen Y/N?"

I recognize George's strained voice. I flinch at the question and sink down onto the couch, giving Miyo desperate gazes.

"No." Miyo answers, catching my desperate glance.

"What? Really? Do we have to call the police?" George asks, his voice wavering with panic.

"No." Miyo responds once more.

"...What?" George asks on the other side. He sounded genuinely worried and concerned.

"You heard me. Don't call the police." Miyo sighs.

"Miyo? You didn't kill her or anyt-"

"George, no." Miyo interrupts.

"Sorry," he apologizes.

"Clay's been crying a lot- he says he needs to apologize to her," he adds.

"Good, let him suffer for a good week." Miyo deadpans.

"...What did he do? Not that I'm trying to defend him- but I'm genuinely curious." George asks.

"Y/N would have to tell you that."

"But I don't know how to contact her-"

Miyp gives me a questioning look. My eyes widen and my lips go dry. I nod once and look down to the floor.
