Doozy Of A Day

"Guys we gotta go. JJ sent an SOS." I rushed out to Pope and Kie and they all got up right if their asses as we all ran to the truck and I showed Kie and she drifted straight out onto the road speeding ahead.

We heard a bunch of sirens ahead and Kie stepped on the gas pedal until we stopped right in front of an ambulance and I smacked my head against Popes seat.

"Come on JJ." I whispered looking at the ambulance and I saw him run out back. "I'm sorry." Kie apologised stalling them. "She just got her license." Pope added along.

"Guys let's go."

Kie nodded driving along and I saw JJ running towards the car and I opened the door as he jumped in. "Kie drive." I told her and she nodded driving of.

"I'm seriously not even gonna ask." Kie said not even bothering and I look towards him.

"I am. What the hell were you thinking?"

"Look I busted the wrong guy out of jail. Sue me." JJ panted still tired of sprinting as he lay resting his legs on top of my knees.

"Come again?" I said conepltey confused.

"At least I was trying."

"Why are you always doing stupid shit?" Kie asked and I nodded. "Your gonna get yourself seriously hurt one day." I told him and he didn't even care.

"Well I'm gonna end up in jail anyway. So why does it matter?" JJ said pretty bummed out and I wanted to say something. I wanted to rant at him but I'll do that later.

"You okay man?" Pope asked him and he just sighed. "Just a doozy of a day."

"Wait why the hell are you crashing John B's?" JJ asked as he sat on the bed I was on throwing me a can of beer. "Mom finally kicked me out."

"About time." JJ said trying to joke about it and I just gulped my beer down. "Tell me about it." I laughed along.

"Welcome to the club." He said saluting me and I just nodded trying to hold up a smile.

"You okay though?" JJ asked me and I nodded gulping down the lump in my throat and I just avoided his eye contact looking away.

"What's up?" He asked me lifting my chin towards him and I let out a painless laugh. "Nothing."

"Come on sailor. I know you. Tell me." He said and I just let out a huge huff out of frustration.

"I try my best to do what they want ya know. My mom hates me. She hates me because I tried. And I know they were just trying to do what's best. But I thought they would try to understand and they don't and now they don't even want us and-"

"Look at me sailor." He said cutting me of and he reached his arm out to me and just pulled me into a side hug as I rested my head into the cuff of his shoulder.

"Who wouldn't want you. Your Kayla freaking Carrera dude." He told me and I lightly smiled looking up at him.

"Thanks JJ."

We stayed silent for a moment and I could tell there was something he wanted to tell me. "Saw my dad." He told me and I furrowed my brows looking up at him.

"In jail?"

"Yeah, he um. He was out in the court but he didn't see me." JJ told me and he was always sad when he talked about him. It just bought his mood down.

"Good. He's a piece of fucking shit who doesn't deserve you. Got it? If he really loved you he would see how special his son really is." I told him and JJ smirked looking down at me.
